Well I did give him Octopussy. I don't hate him. He just never seemed like Bond to me.
I would replace Connery in Diamonds with Lazenby.
I would replace Moore with Laz from Live and Let die to For Your Eyes Only
With A View to a Kill I'd replace Moore with Dalton.
I'd leave Dalton through The World is Not Enough.
I'd replace Daniel Craig with....just about anybody. At least someone who looks like James Bond.
According to Spencer Milligan, Rick's fate is a mystery.
The second is my favorite and friends of mine have agreed. It is so dark!! I love it.
Time seems to have stood still in the late 90s. Look at a picture of a crowd from 1949 and compare it to 1969. A HUGE difference. Then a picture from 1989. Another HUGE difference. The cars, the fashions...Then a picture from 1999 and today. I couldn't tell you the difference there (please don't mention cell phone or internet technology. That's not what we're talking about). I could wear a shirt and the hairstyle I had in 2000 and nobody would bat an eye. I believe the quick changing evolution of style and pop culture will someday be known as a unique frame of time between the 1940s-90s.
From my vague memory (haven't seen this in 20 or 30 years), the doctor was holding nose picture cards and Steve's character wasn't happy with any of them.
Playing with a toy.
I couldn't get into that movie at all just because of Sean's voice. His unique voice is what makes him so well known. I don't think there was a moment in the film where I could accept that the dragon was talking. I just pictured Sean in a sound booth. It's hard to believe the movie was successful. The idea of using Sean seemed more appropriate for a comedy sketch show.
I heard a little more about it. Something about Holly is now invisible and the voice of LOTL. Will is some kind of hermit living in a cave. You know, I'm happy with what we have from the 70s. Remakes pretty much always suck and it sounds like this wouldn't be any different. I'd like to see the seasons re-released with some minor enhancements and clean-up.
I agree about cleaning up the keying. I would use CG minimally. Give Grumpy a mouth in the opening theme. Maybe use some ghosting technique to make the dinosaur movements less jittery.
I consider it the ONLY Star Wars film. It was totally self contained and none of the other films were needed. The Holiday Special all the way to So-Low. Bahhhh!!
Unfortunately that is the absolute truth. They're pretty much doing that with the Bewitched reboot. Reading all this makes me glad I stopped watching tv/new movies years ago.
It's unfair to judge it by today's standards, especially since it most likely played a big part in the evolution of FX (the tornado scene still gives me the chills and is a hundred times more menacing than the CG ones we have now). I agree with Jonathan's post above. It was a yearly tradition when we were kids (along with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory) that gave us fantasy worlds to look forward to. Nowadays fantasy films are the norm but not in the 70s. I've outgrown Oz and Chitty but can see why they are held in such high regard.
Well to be honest I quit watching tv all together. Not because of Seinfeld. Just outgrew it. But last impressions are the most memorable and whenever this show appears in the trending list, that cruddy last episode is the first thing that comes to mind.
Exactly. To me, the mugging scene tarnished their characters forever. I haven't caught any reruns since. The scenario wasn't needed. They've already lived the consequences of their pettiness by not having any lasting friends outside their tiny circle. There was an episode where Kramer was being mugged and was saved by an undercover cop (to audience cheers). Then he films and laughs at a guy being mugged? What an awful way to end a decent series.
Here's a pic of my dad's 4H club from 1947. You can see a girl and her mom had that exact same hair. I think the style was more common back then than a lot of people think.

She dreamt nightly about being one of Ricky's Congas.
I didn't see the vid but no I don't agree. I put this one in the Bond top 25%. It is relaxed and humorous. My fav Connery 007 film other than maybe Goldfinger.
I think there was a setup episode in Three's Company for this but I can't remember the reason they moved. My guess would be maybe they wanted to retire and not have to worry about the stress and hard work of being landlords.
