Definitely noticed this too. I just couldn't make out what some of the characters were saying at times. It could have been because of the accent, but I noticed this several times
The dwarf was given two photos, one was the woman introduced in that scene and the other was Dougie. That and the murder scene lets us know that, 1. The people in the photos are to be murdered by the receiver of the envelope and 2.Dougie is next.
Why is it necessary to know who she was or what she did? These scenes are to explain the meaning of the envelope. You could simply make the case for almost every slasher movie where a random character gets murdered, in which the scene is supposed to tell you more about the killer and not the victim. Why should there be a backstory to something when it is not relevant to make the point?
