So what you're really saying is that non-Americans are too dumb to be able to understand a guy wanting to get home to his family in time for a holiday? Not sure I agree with that.

I've seen a lot of reviews pointing out the cliche dialogue and bad performances. I think that was intentional though since these characters and their decisions were supposed to have been created by a child. Maybe it wasn't intentional though. After all, we're also supposed to believe McConaughey's son worked it into his video game that his dad would have sex with Diane Lane for money and that he would include another part in his game where his parents had sex. Just a bizarre movie.
Come to think of it, the idea that Diane Lane needs to pay for sex should have been our first clue this movie wasn't based in reality.

This is the stupidest reasoning I have ever heard. I guess there were also no stakes in The Departed or Saving Private Ryan or Unforgiven or literally any other movie that wasn't part of a superhero universe?

He lost me with Kill Bill but won me back with Inglourious Basterds. I think that Basterds, Django and Hateful Eight are great but I can see how some think he's getting too comfortable. His next movie should be different.

You will see that the "insanely lame terrorist" episode was the lowest rated, yet still very strong ratings for a network show in 2016 (10.9 million viewers). And the ratings actually went up slightly for the following (and "insanely lame" final) episode. Yet you say the ratings "sank" after that episode. Interesting. That would appear to be... a goddamned dirty lie!
Furthermore, here are the ratings for season 5 of Homeland, which you claim the lowest rated of episodes score "insanely higher" than episodes of the X-Files revival:

Highest rated episode of that season of Homeland is 2.06 million viewers. Yet the lowest rated of The X-Files revival was 10.9 million. Also interesting. It looks like we have another... goddamned dirty lie!
And of course, further evidence would be that we now know The X-Files was renewed for an 11th season, something anybody who wasn't a goddamned dirty lying retard could have seen coming.
