Because the portal was only open each day for a certain amount of time. The men would leave each day to go to "work" but they were really going out into the real world and working to pay for the simulation and I would assume to continue to drug the wives (I would also assume there were feeding tubes and such associated with that). Saw it last night and was very surprised at how enjoyable it was! "Accident puts study abroad student in hospital | The Fairfield Mirror" http://fairfieldmirror.com/news/accidentputsstudyabroadstudentinhospital/ The movie isn't about bulling...... but the little girl in it does kick some a**!! I saw it last night and really enjoyed it!! Not to mention how trusting she was of total strangers!!! The taxi driver, I'll give her - he did help; but he knew an awful lot on how to find people and get the answers. The hotel owner though? He was creepy from the beginning and to just agree to stay in a spare bedroom in HIS room was very bazaar..... I could not believe they cast these 2. They had zero chemistry!! Totally agree with the Sopranos. He died....he said in an episode what he thought happened when you die. The ending ruined the entire series. Ruth set herself up, so that death was a given, but the fact that Wendy didn't get what was coming to her? And the fade to black screen? Typical writers flaw when you aren't competent enough to write an ending. The source material has ended and the show has already killed off some of the important characters that survive to the end...so they don't need to feel pressured to stay close to the source. AMC cancelled the show (the creators had plans to go on)....but somehow they've convinced them with these new shows which kind of makes sense if the audience is there. The storyline now has too many characters and communities to keep track of, by splitting everyone down into different series, it makes it a little easier to follow. The movie was enjoyable but 2 things bothered me: Where was Tara & Sam's mother? Your daughter is attacked and almost killed and you are NO WHERE. Yeah I heard the mention about her "drinking" but that doesn't cover for it. Who works at the hospital? When the killer comes for Tara, the lights go out and all that Tara comes across is a dead security guard. Where was everyone? No staff, no other patients. They are suppose to be near Washington DC around the Alexandria, VA area. Maggie took them through the DC Metro tunnel to get where ever she was going. Course it's still being filmed in Atlanta, which is why everything looks like Atlanta and not the area they are supposedly in. Google the true story. She never fell in love but most of it followed pretty close to the truth in regards to the conversations, the threat to her life and such. I agree. I kept remembering that the guy stabbed him but then it was like "oh everything is okay". I subscribed only to see this...what a waste of money. It's boring...no connection to any character. I'm sure anyone who has not read the book or seen the original series doesn't have a clue what's going on. I agree. It was just a fun movie! It's not horror. Let's face it....there's not much movie competition out there, so topping the box office during a pandemic isn't much. I must agree.... it's an entertaining movie. And agree with Tenet (and I did see it).....still have no idea what that movie was about! I have to agree with Br0nte88. They went to too much trouble "almost" showing his demise, then a wrapped body that no one bothered to look at. It could all be a test, which they passed and thus how the season ended. Helen thought she was in control, but obviously wasn't.
