the christmas episodes are examples how the series downgrades by the years, remember the early christmas episodes one where the mall santa claus had crashed in their backyard, another year the hilarious episode/spoof of the story where al is visited by his guardian angel, well, i just saw saw one of the christmas episodes in the later years, and the whole episode is about al and peggy sitting on the couch zipping through channels making unfunny remarks.. its like the series just continued to have these people in the living room every week but all jokes and stories were gone or repeated... its like the last years of the series should not be put on rerun, its kind of upsetting to see how once the funniest sit com ever turn into something so unwatchable you have to change the channel when people come over cause you won't be seen watching it.

i was very surprised to come here and see all the negative reviews, i was glued to the movie, a very intense first hour, slows down a bit but then just gains insanely the last part, there was one single music piece in the movie which really seemed out of place. much of the comments seem to be how its unrealistic, those same comments flourished around another movie i really liked (that outdoor wilderness flick with baldwin and hopkins) and i like the replies "its entertainment, not facts". i was just blown away by this, can't remember the last time i saw such a thrilling movie, at the end of your seat.

this would seem to be the ultimate location theme for a scooby doo adventure, if you want a non cartoon similar of a movie, check out "i eat your skin" (preferably in the elvira's movie macabre collection). i was quite surprised how physical daphne got, i had no idea she had those kind of skills. some of the music seemed rather misplaced but this has got to be one of the very best scooby doo pieces, right, there seem to be quite a few posts on this board suggesting it too, in just the most fitting setting. really neat atmosphere.

surely the original poster is right, i'm surprised how many seem to like this, but even if so, you must admit its the least funniest mel brooks movie then. some topics here asks about funniest scenes, and i really can't recall a single funny moment in the movie, i'm sure there must be and i'll watch it as it currently airs on a movie channel i get, i do like the atmosphere of the movie, but to think of what a riot this is set up to be, a mel brooks movie starring leslie nielsen and brooks reoccurring actor harvey korman. its really something to see how critics rates mel brooks movies from 1960's, 70's masterpieces like the producers, blazing saddles, young frankenstein to bottom rating in the 90's as life stinks (which i recall i liked though) and this. i think the way to view this is like for the story and not expect laughs. i must say nielsen really nails the bela lugosi accent.

yes well all that was brought up by rocky in the movie, wasn't it. mickey seemed to be acting that way towards all people, my favorite scene of the entire movie is when two girls approaches rocky and mickey lashes out at them and they run off terrified. very funny role, i probably would have liked the sequels after the third better if mickey was in them. i had a much bigger problem with paulie, he was so loud, obnoxious and mean to the sister...

i'm sure these aren't serious comments about anthony... π¬ don't we all just love anthony? π± i do! he's a good boy! π looking around this board people really don't seem to like the twilight zone movie! one thing i noticed after having gotten used to the classic series is how silly it seems they have put so much effort on people making funny faces and special effects, rather shallow compared to the great original. i thought lithgow was great in the last piece, and there are two actors returning (burgess meredith as narrator and kevin mccarthy) from the original. anyway this segment seem to be the exception though, of all the segments in this movie this one people seem to generally really like, i think it has a neat atmosphere and i'm glad the story finally got a conclusion to what happened, with the help of adding another role to the story, adding roles also happens alot in twilight zone radio dramas to help it adapt to radio i suppose.

first of all i want to say that i think anthony is a good boy... π¨ you won't hear a bad word about anthony from me... ππ» no no. about this remake, i think its very clear that its a happy ending, the woman didn't get in line as the others did and often criticised him, but he didn't react to her with fury as with the others, he listened to her and cared about her feelings, so she obviously stops anthony from... making monsters. as for the others, i figure anthony just sent them back where they came from. actually i was pleased to see that episode finally get a conclusion, maybe i shouldn't say it like that since this was the first version i saw, but the tv episode and (often quite funny) radio adaptation ends so abruptly without a conclusion it kind of leaves you wanting more.

that's funny, right off i reacted how this poster looks nothing like him in the movie, his hair looks messy and like he's in a straightjacket. maybe it was connected to how this movie is billed as a comedy, i can' think of a single funny moment in the movie, people clearly think of it as a drama, though the guy his daughter is about to get married to acted more like a boob out of an snl movie. i don't know if the scenes between nicholson and kathy bates were suppose to be funny, but i thought they were just uncomfortable. i wonder what happened to the pieces falling off the top of the trailer.

"the incredible world of horace ford". i can't recall if i had seen previous episodes of the season but that episode was what got me hooked and made me buy the dvd boxes and discover twilight zone radio. my first twilight zone experience was the 1983 movie, but the 1959 series was what blew me away, i gave it a shot thinking i wouldn't like it as much as the 1980's twilight zone series... haven't seen the 80's series since. the 80's series and season 4 of the original was what aired on a short lived science fiction channel in my country. was "time element" the episode that were suppose to be a part of the twilight zone series but ended up in a previous series or something.. anyway, the episode with that story behind it is being treated as a "regular" twilight zone episode in the "twilight zone radio dramas" series. i understand another episode people have missed out on is "the encounter" since it was pulled from airing.

when did it begin to go downhill? at first i must say that this is by far my favorite sit-com, but i share the common opinion that the last few seasons are almost unwatchable and the roles had changed alot, my country has even skipped airing the reruns of the episodes made after 1995 a couple of times and has only had dvd release of the first two seasons. i think you already can begin to see the decline of the series in the last episodes (original neighbor/husband) steve was in, and perhaps when they added another kid to the family was the point of no return, becoming more cartoonish or slapstick like, other signs are when the studio audience went into cheer when the cast entered the door, kelly's role going from bud's witty teasing big sister to a complete airhead, the constant "broken steps to basement" and other jokes just delivered on routine... still funny moments can be found once in a while throughout the entire run. i thought "griff" and "no ma'am" rescued a bit of the later seasons.

used to always be around,
every corner mornin as night,
inside and out,
now miss you if i blink an eye.
i first saw this years ago and got the impression it had aged badly and wasn't in the same league as the naked gun movies, as i caught it on tv now it was more unfunny than i even remembered it, its hard to believe there are the same moviemakers and only a few years between naked gun and this, forgot leslie neilsen had a part in this too. but i also remember not liking the scary movie they did later, so i guess the naked gun worked just right. about that topical humour, that frequently happens as i watch for example the sit-com "married with children" and they're making reference to something that perhaps was in the news 1992 and i have no idea what the joke is, and often when i watch newly produced stuff and they make a reference about something that has recently been a topic in the news i think "that is gonna age real fast" (it sometimes happens in family guy, and the episode "werewolf of washington" in elvira's movie macabre.)

this is the most childish, silliest movie i can remember ever seeing, and its hilarious. quite the poor title though, just recently learned about it after being used to the much richer translated one to my language, someone here has listed alternative titles, i guess the one i know it by is similar to the french one or how i found its titled on dvd in the uk "evil woman", which also seem rather poor in compare, but atleast that's better than "saving silverman", this silverman who i can't recall being as big part of the movie as his two buddies and the "evil woman".

when my toll you passed,

for years whenever this aired i never understood the ending and found it confusing, finally i had to look it up on wikipedia and felt like a boob for not understanding it, but i see it has confused alot of people. sombre movie, just as a starter with him visiting his old work place and on his way out finds his works stacked in boxes at a storage room, some mention its been listed as a comedy which seem to not make sense at all, maybe that's why there are so many negative comments about it being boring because people expected something else. i would have liked if they had skipped some of the obscene language. maybe one poster here is right how there are two ways to see the ending, and i kind of leaned towards the "sad ending", maybe i'll view it that way again now after reading these comments.

same here, i've always heard of this movie and thought of it as iconic but had never really seen it before, looking around this board i got surprised how alot of people really don't seem to like this movie! after all the recognition it has. well i can't judge it myself cause i can't stand romantic comedies classic or not. the scene where he was asking the clerk (actor from twilight zone and jerry lewis' "who's minding the store") a favor for 10 dollars or so was not credible. but i can see that is not the only issue brought up.

this airs on tcm nordic, a channel i used to have on alot because they aired classic movies around the clock, then recently a change was made in the tcm (nordic) offering and they almost entirely with a few exceptions air 21st century movies, and i came by this i thought i was watching a brand new movie because it looked so modern and the picture quality was amazing i was so surprised it was an 1980's movie, it didn't look it until the shots of the cars on the road outside.

i see where he's coming from too, i'm surprised because i expected these boards to be full of comments of how some of these things are portrayed and dealt with, i thought it was disturbing and it completely overshadows what could otherwise be a pleasant movie, i loath remakes, and i never thought i'd say this, but this could use an update. i used to like it, mainly because i now realised as i re watched it that i had only seen the last twenty minutes before, the last part between the re occurring actor from twilight zone and stewart was memorable, so it has its moments. i got it on a vhs tape which actually has an introduction from the star (a much older stewart) made specifically for the vhs tape (universal the classic collection). its funny how the mother and daughter both spoke like grannies, guess that happens in old movies, that was his big sister? indeed... she appeared about 30 years older than him. i wonder if this is like frankenstein so that some people call the main role harvey.

peggy sitting around a table with women and steve walks in about to confront them, al: "don't challenge them steve, i've seen them send stronger men then you screaming to their graves."
kelly telling bud to stand by the airport and say: "the plane, boss, the plane".

its great to see this list again, i remember buying some of these on dvd when they were released around 2006-07, i didn't know until i saw this list recently that so many were left out, i wonder why not more were released, perhaps the new movie macabre series was in progress so all effort was put on that, those shows have been released many times over on different editions.

at a town i don't fit in,
full of gossiping and sneaking.
i kind of missed that mid-episode narration first times i heard the radio adaptation of the episode, though when it comes to the radio dramas "the monsters are due on maple street" has a bit of a different narration. in the beginning of "walking distance" he has a limp, spoiler, and he visits his past self and because of the future version of him the boy version falls off the merry-go-round and develops a limp, so i figure that means when martin sloan was a boy decades ago, he was visited by a stranger, which was himself from the future, it gives you the impression in the tv-episode towards the conclusion that thought crosses his mind. i wonder if his dad ever told the mother the whole story since he had discovered that the grown martin sloan was for real, that was never revealed in the tv episode or the radio drama. this episode is similar to "the incredible world of horace ford" which was what really got me hooked big time on the twilight zone, i got the dvd box just because i had to hear the radio adaptation of that on the extra material.

when i first caught this i didn't expect it to have been made by italian channel rai and run for 6 hours as a tv series. the release i saw made it look like a movie. the make up crew didn't age his mother much. as this opens you're just blown away by the cast, i've never seen a movie with a cast like this, and then you start to notice its badly dubbed like an old hong kong action or italian (which it turned out to be) movie, that just made me lose focus a bit and thought i'd catch other versions instead, i thought it was kind of strange why i had never heard of this before, before i realized it was a tv movie, but after i had gotten used to seeing it as a tv series i still stayed hooked on it, too bad they didn't make that clear from the start.
oh, and happy easter to all!
