Well said! I agree. And I think Amy Adams was perfectly cast. Shame many are not able to appreciate what the creators were trying to do. Agreed. I also thought... SPOILER AHEAD ...that him landing on a car windscreen from only ten feet above would not have killed him. Catherine even told him he would not die even if he landed on the road, so as the car broke his fall, his injuries would not be that bad. Most likely only several broken bones. I agree with the OP. I loved all the characters, especially Diane! Her date with Gregg had me crying laughing ...Comedy gold. I don't see how there can be another series as this story seemed complete at the end of series 2. Elgin James and Stephen Merchant, if there can't be a series 3, please write something else with these actors in. Thanks! Thanks for that. A good account... IF the series had only been a drama. Shame it mentioned nothing of the brilliant comedy! Not silly at all. That is the twist of another movie after all. From where I'm standing it's the homophobic racist ruining it. Yeah I know right. A bit corny, but it does look like the writers (maybe when drink!) just thought of the words to the song... Last Christmas I gave you my heart... and thought. I know! I'm gonna write a whole movie about this ONE line! (I'm not including the second line, as it was her original heart that was "thrown away" - not given away - so that's very tenuous, and the writers were clearly grappling there!). Loved the movie though, and I watched it twice. Rom Coms aren't usually my thing, but I guess I must like George Michael music. The whole movie was a tribute to George Michael. And the whole story (once you know the ending!) was based on a single line of a George Michael song! I'm guessing you didn't spot Andrew Ridgely in the audience singing at the end? Bit late to the party, but here's my 2 cents... I think his dad was tough and over-strict ONLY as a backstory to make Christian's character a successful fighter in adulthood. At first I disliked his father's character for being so cruel, but by the end of the movie, I see that it was probably the best way to create the back story. View all replies >
