Thewlis is a fantastic actor, his lines as Ares were terrible though. They tried to copy the MoS Zod scene and it fell flat.
I really liked Hacksaw Ridge but I loved Dunkirk. I also appreciated that in Dunkirk I didn't have to hear about another 'girlfriend/wife back home' type of back story most war movies use to get you to root for the characters or tug at your heart. It was all about what was happening to these people at Dunkirk, which is bad enough in itself to make you feel scared for the characters. The fact that most of the cast was unknown heightened the tension because you didn't know who would die. Seen the movie 3 times and it gets better every time. Saw Hacksaw Ridge once and I have no desire to see it again, also the first half of the movie is just boring and Hugo Weaving's performance was not very good. The battle scenes are done really well and Andrew Garfield is brilliant but overall I obviously liked Dunkirk more.
I agree! Chris Terrio's batman dialog was terrible. They should have trusted Zach and Goyer, IMO these guys have made some of the best superhero movies, Watchmen, TDK trilogy, 300, MoS were all brilliant! Snyder and Goyer were clearly scapegoats in this situation.
Pa Kent dying of a heart attack has been done, I'm glad they did something different that worked for his character in this movie. You are right though, Man of Steel is a masterpiece! IMO it's the last good DC movie.
Ares is basically in disguise throughout the movie and when he's in battle he is a huge CG character. He doesn't need to be jacked. WW however is not and is an Amazon warrior and should have more muscle than Gadot. Also she is a horrible actress
I didn't mean the mythology, just the animation of that scene in the beginning
Yes and tortured as well.
Saw the movie, it's a bad Marvel movie knock off and Gadot is a terrible actress. The movie is terrible! Only good thing is Chris Pine and the Greek mythology scene in the beginning. Even David Thewlis who is fantastic in everything couldn't make the awful dialogue sound believable. The CG is at the X-Men Origin level where some scenes actually look incomplete. As a woman it really bothers me that this is being heralded as a feminist achievement when it's really a Steve Trevor movie with WW in it.
Not really a given since MoS was brilliant but the CG has been quite bad since BvS. WW however is on the level of X-Men Origins Wolverine and Themyscira looked like crap!
You forgot to mention the terrible CG.
She's pretty and all but honestly if she wasn't playing WW, I don't think I would have noticed her. She sort of lacks a sense of character and strength on her face which is IMO very important to the WW character. Also it doesn't help that she keeps making that duck face all the time.
No doubt, she's very pretty but being in the fast and furious movies doesn't really say much about her acting.
I haven't heard anything about the armpit hair and that is absolutely ridiculous but she is not a very good actress and doesn't have a very commanding presence. Though I think she's gorgeous, IMO, she's badly miscast in this role.
About her supporting Israel, it is upsetting that a character that is a feminist icon and a role model to many is portrayed by someone who supports an apartheid state.
It's not really an excuse, just Google marvel movie formula and you'll get a lot of articles explaining it. Check the link below, it applies to all of them so far.

Agreed! It was very boring and had some major issues as well like the exposition phone video, the kids in the facility having different accents, also, who built that hide out they're in towards the end? And Dafne Keen is not a good actress.
Seriously sucked! Can't believe this has rave reviews and Man of Steel is considered a bad movie.
