You are not the only one. Old school slashers all the way. Jason, Freddy, Pinhead, Ash. My dream is that Sam and Dean are included in the Mortal Kombat style Horror fighter that Ed Boon has been thinking about. That or a re-purposed Freddy vs Jason vs Sam and Dean (still hold a grudge on the Freddy/Jason/Ash movie that Raimi squashed). I am with you but unfortunately the current group is already writing season 13, they started Monday. It doesn't look like anyone higher up has stepped in to have a heart to heart and the really negative stuff is just starting to ramp up. As long as Dabb lives in his bubble, we are in for another rough ride next year. Hopefully this will be a repeat of Gamble with a full year of criticism and someone coming in to make changes. Its the only hope we have to get someone decent for the run to 300 in season 14. 12.22: 1.53m / 0.6 demo 12.23: 1.53m / 0.6 demo I really liked Ellen. Another wasted opportunity. She was the perfect example of being a badass without having to prove she was a badass. There weren't episodes devoted to her saving the boys after they got beat down or her carving through a hundred vampires with a pen knife. She just exuded confidence and toughness. She did have a good death though and I did get a kick out of her message to Dean through the psychic. Its the upside down world Dabb and crew live in. Controversial characters (Garth and Claire) live on where a segment of fans despise them and want them gone. Others (Mary and Toni) are hated by a large majority of fans and they live on. Characters that seem to be growing a fan base and we want to see more of, dead in a few episodes. Its like Dabb thinks that no matter how hated a character is he can turn the audience around. Mary is ruined. There is nothing he can do to save her. So instead of seeing new characters (Eileen and Mick) with interesting stories next season we will get more J2 off day cut away scenes to whatever political Hell and Heaven drama Cas and Crowley are involved in. Exactly. DJ Qualls had another show and was unavailable and they still gave Garth a happy retirement. There is nothing to say that Eileen wouldn't have been available for one shot episodes or cameos. The biggest loss is there was so much potential for the character. I'm not saying characters should never be killed but at least recognize that there is a lot of material that can be mined from them before that happens. This is always been a problem with the show going all the way back to Kripke. I still think Pamela Barnes and Agent Hendrickson should have been developed further...a huge waste. The only hope I have for 22 is that Jensen gave his seal of approval. The promos look like he was left out of the action again so there has to more to it then we have seen. As for 23.....I have no hope at all. "All that being said, I actually broke down and watched parts of this last episode, and say what you will, Buckner/Lemming allowed Dean to be more badass than he's been in almost two years with the scene in the bunker at the end, actually taking out several BMoL and Ketch before skanky Mary shows up to spoil everyone's fun as she is want to do (brainwashing or no brainwashing). Sure, it's just one scene, but it's more than we've gotten in ages." Not to take away from that scene (which I loved) but I just don't believe the Duo wrote "Dean shoots a guy from behind his back" or "Dean slides across the floor and disarms Ketch". I am biased but I credit Jensen and the stunt coordinator. Not to take away from Yockey either but I credit the same thing with the knife fight in Asa Fox. Dabb and crew can only control the scripts, they can't stop Jensen from acting cool in the few action scenes they give him. Hence, banishing him to the woods. No action...no cool acting. If it is the empty maybe Sam will get a chance to kill Azazel, Zachariah, Eve, Dick Roman, Abaddon and Death to make up for all those kills Dean shouldn't have gotten. "I liked Mick too. I also like Jody and Donna but there's basically no spin off of Supernatural that I would have any interest in. The only SPN-related show I'd watch wouldn't even qualify as a spin off but more like a prequel with Matt Cohen as John and 2 young J2 clones: Supernatural Origins." I would LOVE an origins prequel series. They plan on a Charmed series in the 70's and Lost Boys where each season is a new decade. Supernatural in the 80's and 90's would be epic. As for current characters, they need to keep fan favorites not just for a spin off but for J2's down time on the main show. Oddly enough, the two characters that were big Sam fans (Mick and Eileen) were the ones they killed. I agree there is a good chance Bobby could be back in some form. That seems possible. However, say they do bring Bobby back, what then? I am actually more scared about what they do to him if he comes back. I would hate to see Bobby get destroyed by the same writers who dragged down Mary. Bobby was the best parental figure Dean had. Do we really need a Perez or Berens episode where Bobby all of a sudden decides Sam is his favorite? Or an episode where Bobby tells Dean to suck up whatever stupid decision Sam or Mary try to drag him into. Maybe they will want to get real "creative" and have Bobby and Mary hook up to officially make Bobby dad. I can imagine all sorts of horrible scenarios. Bobby is safer on Heaven lockdown. "I've seen this a few different places, but the problem I have with it is that if you start them off as bad guys and then kill them off by the end of the season, how does that lead to a spin off?" The major problem is how out of touch the showrunners are with the audience. Mick, the one BoL member that people started responding to...dead. Eileen, a character people were really starting to like with great potential...dead. The twins, the only one intact is Max, his sister...twine doll. Claire, the character they seem to want to spin off....disliked by a very vocal portion of fans. Again...clueless. Now I don't have a problem with Claire and I would give a Jody/Donna/Claire/Alex a chance but I don't see them as the future. Right now the current show will be lucky to make it to season 14 and ep. 300. I just don't see how they can do a spin off when the writers can't even get people to like the current version of the show on now. Everyone is projecting their hopes for next week so there are a lot of theories. Some think Bobby will be back, some are saying John. There is even a theory that Gabriel is back. I just want it to be better then I dread it will be. At this point, I would be happy with Dean using the launcher in any way at all. Blowing up the door to the bunker, blowing up the BoL base, blowing up the Mad Max guys or even just property damage. As long Dean is the one using it. We see the "you" person holding it and it was smoking. That means it will probably be used in 23. Story wise it would make sense using it in the last episode after joking about it all year. So if they use it, it should be epic like Daryl Dixon and the rocket launcher. Everything should be about to hit the fan then out of nowhere an explosion and a cut to Dean holding the smoking launcher. That would be epic....but nothing I have seen this season gives me hope that will happen. There's a lot of speculation that pillar world is a possible future, alternate dimension or parallel universe. Cas's "you" line was to a guy holding the grenade launcher. I'm afraid Jensen was just happy to play with it with whatever version of Dean this could possibly be. I'm a little episode wary these days especially after the colt. Thanks. The spoiler thread at previously tv goes into even more detail. They have screenshots and a scene by scene breakdown of each image. There is a small (don't want to get my hopes up) chance that Dean takes out Ketch but I will believe it when I see it. Also, Jensen said he finally got to use the grenade launcher at ahbl8 which again makes me fear it is some kind of alt dean. They cop out on the real dean using it and Dabbs destruction of the character will almost be complete. Mary and John's separation when Dean was young. I figured John was to blame and was basically the same person as he was after Mary's death just not as hard core. Now we learn that Mary was off hunting days at a time and keeping secrets. At the very least, John probably thought she was cheating. This season caused me to dislike Mary and appreciate John more. 1.61m 0.5 demo I really don't want to get my hopes high but I am actually pretty excited about this. Jensen said he is really happy with episode 22 and instagramed how he loved his job. I was afraid this was going to be another Colt situation but it looks like we will finally get a payoff. It might be a great birthday after all. :)
