Yeah, she really seems disappointed when she hears the word "friend" at this moment.
What are you on about?
<blockquote>than she did in WW2</blockquote>
Particularly liked the part when she got through the Ardennes Forest to reach France.
She do was in her prime, and it's quite interesting because she was 40 years old.
I usually find self-references tiresome.
But this one, wow, it killed me. Laughed out loudly.
The boy was actually okay, fine even.
But the girl, unfortunately, gives one of the most amateur performance ever (in a commercial movie).
If you like it it's great. Cannot discuss tastes for real.
For me: I know them too well, and they sound like a part of my teenage years I'd rather forget, maybe.
<blockquote>Pretty sure that's "Oh Yeah", by German group Yello. </blockquote>
Swiss group.
The DX-7 is the epitome of sounds that don't age well.
The music is awful, awful, awful, except for two exceptionally great classics:
Walking On Sunshine, and the revolutionary Oh Yeah.
Worst hairdo in the history of film, though.
She was real, and she was spectacular.
Those legs were something to behold.
It was an homage to Victor/Victoria.
But, seriously, not obvious. I thought it was a man right from the start.
I'm very surprised that it was a woman actress.
Second thread now, so I'm gonna ask: are you dense?
Please explain why, so we can discuss.
I believe you don't think all the characters in all the movies should behave perfectly, or am I mistaken?
This just happened to me, yeah.
Thought it was better now that I'm in my late forties, than we I first saw it at the age of 12.
"the "bullpen" because the advertising signs were often placed in that area of the field"
No.
"The term first appeared in wide use shortly after the turn of the 20th century, and has been used since in roughly its present meaning. Previously, in the late 19th century latecomers to ball games were cordoned off into standing-room areas in foul territory. Because the fans were herded like cattle, this area became known as the "bullpen", a designation which was retained when those areas became the spot where relief pitchers would warm up."
<blockquote>"A legit snapshot of its time"
I like that, and I couldn't agree more!</blockquote>
So you finally agree it's dated then.
The score is very dated. "Dated" doesn't mean "not good".
But in this case, I did not think it was very good either. But it worked because it reflected the cheesiness of afternoon soap's type of score.
Tharta-Sax an Matacratac!
Watafa????
<blockquote>But implied rape isn't romantic. It's so weird that so many people like this movie in spite of that scene. The world has really changed since then.</blockquote>
No he did not rape her, it's so obvious.
Also, rape was NEVER okay at any time in history.
