The twist might be that we expect it to be good, but instead they ruin it. I would imagine there is a connection on some level. It would be different if it was something like Smith or Jones, but Benteen is uncommon enough that it was probably on purpose. One of my favorites! You can also replace the vinegar and oil with Zesty Italian salad dressing for a more robust flavor, if that suits your taste. I wasn't able to watch because I was at work, but I got a great Bloomin' Onion that night. It was during the time the marathon was on, does that count? ;) Always nice to see you around, Jennie! I like Jeff Myrtlebank too, but it doesn't seem to get much attention. Maybe take a step back and realize that you seem to be getting upset over someone's opinion of a fictional character. We're all just here to have a good time and chat; it doesn't have to be so serious. The wife in "Time Enough at Last" is an absolute nightmare, so she's got my vote for worst. Of the "humorous" episodes, it is easily my favorite. Partially because it is one of the first episodes I remember seeing way back when, but also I think the plot is just a neat idea. I had to work, unfortunately. Seems like I always miss the marathons due to work. Yeah, I'm the one that created the subreddit, but this place is way better so I abandoned it and came here. Ah, good choice with "Walking Distance". There's just too many to choose! I considered that, in which case I would have chosen "Eye of the Beholer", but it did air as a Twilight Zone episode, so I counted it. Great idea! BEST PICTURE: "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street" - no contest for me. I think it is the essence of everything a TZ episode should be. BEST ACTOR: Burgess Meredith. I don't like the episode as much as some do, but his performance is undeniably great. BEST ACTRESS: Gladys Cooper. It'll always be Gladys for me. SUPPORTING ACTOR: Sebastian Cabot. He played an angel and a devil to perfection. SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Jeanette Nolan. I just love Jeanette Nolan. BEST DIRECTOR: Robert Enrico. Truly a beautifully filmed episode. You're right. That episode was a bad idea and its boring. He might be the only good thing about it at all. I don't think there was a "best" or "worst". I think you win some, you lose some. I'll go with "The Shelter". I guess the Cold War still counts. Just thought of another one: "The Brain Center at Whipples". Not as bad as "Agnes", but still on the 'bad' spectrum. Richard Deacon did a great job as Whipple, though. I always liked him on The Dick Van Dyke Show and I think he's underrated. Oh certainly. That's part of the beauty of this show: everyone can interpret it differently. I think he returned to the past. If he just went nuts it wouldn't be very Twilight Zone-y. The Silence is my answer, as well. Its the perfect blend of totally unexpected, plus dropping little clues that you'd probably only get if you already know the ending.
