"Evil is running rampant through the streets!" "I'm tired of running rampant through the streets!" "And I love YOU, random citizen!" "Bernard, you were right about that room being exciting." Awesome! Like the boards never left. I also like the touch of keeping the OP at the top when you go to a different page. Very convenient. Ah. Still seems flawed, though. Was that the only way you could get posts removed? If only one person reported something was that effectively useless? It was just really...flat to me. I didn't hate anyone, but I didn't like anyone. I didn't find it actively obnoxious but I didn't find it particularly pleasant either. Never scary, but not really boring. Just middle of the road all the way through until the end, which was kind of stupid ("hey, my friend was just killed after acting like he heard something! Better turn now that I think I heard something!"). Is that how it worked? I was kind of confused when I kept hearing people say there was no moderation but I could clearly remember seeing "Post Deleted by Administrator" multiple times. That IS a crappy system. I'm not really sure. The few times I've gone in there the movies have been months after their theatrical release but not on DVD/Blu-Ray yet. Moana was in there at the tail end of January (or early February, I don't remember) and just came out yesterday. But it's free, so, kind of an even exchange for the wait. I imagine it's best for movies where you think they look kind of interesting but you aren't hugely into it so you can stand waiting a bit longer. It's a one screen thing that can seat maybe a hundred people. It's nice but nothing really impressive. Probably Rise of the Guardians, Kung Fu Panda 2, Megamind, Madagascar 3, and Mr Peabody and Sherman. I guess in that order, but I'm not sure. "Besides, if this was such a smart idea, how come all the other sites do have mods?" I think this, maybe inadvertently, brings up a good point. Looking back at previous forums I've hung out on, the mods have had to swoop in for non-troll (kinda) related stuff, too. I was on another forum where people would occasionally create accounts just so they could start threads with innocent titles and nothing but porn in them. And I'm sure most of us who were around on IMDB remember how often you'd get posts from bots trying to get people to click links promising free movies when in reality they just led to a place where a virus could infect your computer. On yet another forum I've been on there are regularly spam bots posting threads that consist solely of ads (again, most likely malware), and I even got a PM trying to get my e-mail address on that one. The point I'm getting at is, even if you decide things most troll activity is okay, surely some stuff is objectively bad for the site, and needs mods to get rid of it (Jim can't do it all). (That said, I do think a warning system would probably be smart, instead of just instant ban hammering, except in extreme cases like the ones mentioned.) Technically I saw Moana in my college's theater the most recently. But for an actual theater, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. View all replies >
