I think he was mentally I'll and they don't react like everyone else who seems them. So he was able to act normal until he got a moment to try to make everyone look. If he had tried earlier on that could have overpowered him.
I think the second is what really happened. At first I was thinking they possibly had sex and his DNA was in her and that was part of his alibi but it wouldn't make sense for her to go kill herself

I think he did it because maybe he found out that Wes was going to the police and Oliver really wants this job with Annelise. What made me think it was Oliver was when he said he's a good liar and said he lied about backing up Annalise's phone. He really didn't lie about that but also that shows that he could have lied about more.
