Gorgeous cinematography, world building and set design (and dialogue I could actually hear unlike Interstellar). I enjoyed the film but I think it could have been better in the writing and direction. It is a pity, there are many fantastic scenes. The choice to remove tension from several key moments harmed the third act immersion for me. And actually I think Pitt and Jones performances were lacking in places, just slightly off. Now, if Pitt could have done as good a job as Ryan Gosling in Blade Runner 2049.
When it turns out to be a warning and not distress beacon...
1. The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
2. The Mortal Remains
3. The Gal Who Got Rattled
4. All Gold Canyon
5. Near Algodones
6. Meal Ticket
It was a jarring jump. At times I wasn't even sure if they were flashbacks to pre-arrival.
I'm guessing the higher ups are allowing it, related to the Rap tablet/roladex/database that showed Broussard and Will were important back in the first season. The same reason the hosts didn't kill them.
The timeline doesn't quite fit but it might be due to the fact that everywhere else but Seattle the occupations eliminated the smarter skilled people in power, military, etc. So maybe they were simply flagged as being useful for Seattle.
I think the day pass thing was just a ruse to lure the apex mother.
I was kind of on the fence until episode 4, and then it did a couple of things I wasn't expecting -- killing off Agent Ren; and the first group not being about establishing Apex but preventing it somehow.
I was disappointed, since I loved both Moon and Source Code and have been anticipating Mute for quite some time.
I didn't like the surgeon characters much and they took up a lot of screen time. Actually none of the characters really connected. The world building was good. It's just sad that it wasn't that great a story. Something like this begs for a compelling story.
I need my fix for this kind of scenario since I lost interest in 12 Monkeys mid-third season.
I also think she would have looked deceased when we see her zip-tied in the car. Her lips/skin would have been blueish.
I'm sure she is there in the end scene but with blonde hair.
I thought the basement room Jonas wakes up in is where older Claudia was living since she wasn't around much circa-2019?
Unless that basement room (2052) was where older Jonas was living before going back?
Anyway, really interested to see what kind of world 2052 is.
Although I really liked Kasey's possession, and Gina Davis was great, I think Season 1 really went too far with that whole family and being tied to the original film held it back a bit.
Season 2 feels much more confident; I'm actually enjoying this one more.
In what way 'the worst'? I mean, there's Jeffrey Dahmer, and Lostprophets lead vocalist...

They changed it up a bit by repetitive use of the kind of jump scare prefaced with 'wait for it' silence. I think this film would have been better if they cut twenty minutes or so as it was no longer entertaining and just tedious. It's a pity because there was lots to like in this version compared to the first.
Sadly I have to agree. There are only a few stand-out episodes in season 2, but far too many I made myself watch because I wanted it to get better.
I really enjoyed it, and love that it is so open to interpretation. Too many films seem to need to explain every single thing that it's kind of insulting audience intelligence.
It's definitely worth a watch.
As a rule it's best to avoid discussion forums (and even trailers) if you don't want spoilers.
It's no where near as bad as Under the Dome, which went downhill from Season 2 onwards.
This has some problems (it's nowhere near as good as the movie adaptation) but whilst there is lots to criticize about execution, I think it's worth sticking with (bear with the first few episodes, the characters are unlikeable but it does get better).
I think the problem of ownership was better covered in the anime (and how Light came into ownership of it).
In the anime series, anyone can write in the Death Note. And those who touch the Death Note can also see Ryuk.
I didn't see it all with Adrian. At most I suspected he might have been a witness at the party and knew who did it, but that it wasn't Jay.
I hope it gets renewed too. It is strange, the last two episodes (9&10) I really enjoyed.
I kind of hope we haven't seen the last of Jay. Can the mist learn from the suffering of those siblings?
