Costumer's Replies

This Mirror Mirror universe seem to be different from the TOS one. There was no indication in TOS that the Empire was human only. Spock was still first officer. He threatens Sulu that his death would be avenged by his operatives and that some of them were Vulcan. Which implies that there are Vulcans in the Empire fleet which implies that Vulcan is part of the Empire and that Vulcans have positions of authority within it; which argues against a human only empire. I'm just watching the Mirror Mirror episode. My problem so far with it is that the Empire was never implied to be human only. Remember, Spock, a half Vulcan was still First Officer. He threatens Sulu that his operatives would avenge his death and some of them were Vulcans. Which implies that other Vulcans were also Imperial officers and crew men. Actually, no. Panther is simply another name used interchangeably for cougars, jaguars and leopards. (All of which, of course, are different species). To some, it has become synonymous with the black panther image. However, it should be noted that I have never seen a reference to a black jaguar as a black panther. Black Panther almost exclusively refers to the black color phase of a leopard. I'm not at all fond of current music. However, you're opinion is identical to every adult's opinion about teenagers and young people for the last 5000 years. The ancient Greeks lamented about the poor discipline, drive, and taste in art of the young. So, I doubt very much that less "good" music is being made in the world at this moment than at any previous time. I don't frequent the Logan board. You are right about Stranger Things. But those seem to be the exceptions. (The It kids seem to be in the middle. Many like them, many don't. I do like them. ) Many people in discussion boards such as these seem to lack any kind of tolerance for children. I think I've seen a "terrible children" topic on every movie that features a child or children in anything other than a background, non-speaking character. This is one of those words which mean very different things in the US and UK. Yes, we sing the song, but most Americans don't envision the same thing that a Brit does. Nothing wrong with either country, anymore than trunk/boot, elevator/lift or other dichotomies. As Winston Churchill once said (IRRC) the US and the UK are two countries separated by a common language. You had opined that the US is the worst giver in the world. A simple Google search of many sites which track these sort of things has, for years, put the US in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd place slots (depending on year and methodology) in the World. But you are the one who is claiming that the wizards/witches are suddenly displaying abilities they haven't before. So you are referencing the previous films and/or books. It has been pointed out to you that these abilities have already been established in the previous films and in the books. So suggesting you re-watch the films or re-read the books is completely reasonable and does not indicate a poorly scripted film. (You can make other claims to poor scripting which I may or may not agree with. But this isn't an example.) This is straight out of the comics. When Superman wished to travel through time he would fly in a circle clockwise to go to the future and counter-clockwise to go into the past. Why so many think he's moving the earth just astounds me. He doesn't touch it. He flies around it, going back in time. Which is why you see scenes on earth of things moving backwards. Fully dressed. Not a very compromising discovery. As I recall her character was supposed to be an interim DA, filling out the term for Adam Schiff who resigned after his wife died. Whether she decided not to run for DA is left to our imagination but Arthur Branch won that election and took over the office. If you're referring to why Dianne Wiest left the show, rather than the in show explanation, I have no idea. Late reply, but no. That would miss the entire point of the film. As a straight up horror film it would be no different than a hundred others. I know this was years ago. But its Bensonmum, not Benson. Which characters are, as you claim, sexualized? Which of these sexualized characters is a teen? As far as I can see the only characters younger than 20 are Dr. Finn's sons and neither of them is sexualized in any way. Again, not a reason to abuse prayer. You don't like this kind of film. That's fine. Its your opinion and that opinion is as good as someone who likes them. But you don't get to decided what other people like or that filmmakers shouldn't make films those folks like. In any art, there will be those who like one type or genre and those who don't. That doesn't imply that those who don't should have their opinions catered to, or that they should pray for the destruction of the style they don't like. As a man of faith, I have issues with people misusing prayer to cater to trivial desires. I believe in God. I believe in prayer and its power. And this seems like a complete waste of that power. There are far more important things to deal with than movies you don't like. Traditionally (that is comics canon) he uses a mirror and reflects his heat vision to burn off the beard. Yes, you can come up with holes in that, but that is how it has been traditionally explained. Personally, I would have just established that Kryptonians don't grow beards. Actually, I never got the impression that Joker had any idea who Batman was. His response was simply an off the cuff answer to Batman's accusation. Remember, Joker says "You made me!" Batman responds "You made me first. You killed my parents." (Those statements may have been reversed. Its been some time since I've watched the movie.) So Joker responds like a child would. Just like "you did it" " didn't do it" or "Your dumb!" "No you're dumb." (or "you're dumber") I agree. This is an example when the race of the characters is irrelevant. I don't like cross-racial casting when the character's race or appearance is critical to the character. But this isn't one of those situations.
