I believe you have it exactly correct. Since the point was to bring Tommy back another soul had to die. Since Agatha came back, the exchange was invalid and Tommy's soul did not come back.
Yes, in the movie. What many wish is that the film indicated that Oz was real; as it is in the book.
In the movie it was a dream. In the book, it wasn't.
Personally, I don't think the Wizard intended for them to go on a suicide mission. He likely thought that they would be so frightened of the prospect that they would not go. If they didn't go he would not have to fulfill his promises to them.
In the end he did. Sort of. Part of the point of the story was, except for Dorothy who wanted to go home, the others already possessed the things they wanted from the Wizard. The Scarecrow had a brain; which he used throughout the story. The Tin Man had a heart; his emotional responses throughout the story. The Lion had courage; consistently through the story he enters dangerous situations to help Dorothy and the others.
The only thing the three lacked was an understanding that they had qualities they wanted. The diploma (in the book oats and other items put into his head), the watch, the medal, were just ways for the Wizard to display that they have brains, heart, courage.
>>>>According to the law, it's the jury's job to determine the veracity of the evidence presented, as is -- not to question and interpret the evidence any way they choose and make wild assumptions about witnesses. For instance, you don't just dismiss blood evidence as "probably planted or some shit" unless you are presented with evidence that it has been planted. Likewise, you can't just hand-wave away jury testimony based on, "Her eyes are probably bad."<<<<
Actually, you are completely incorrect. It is precisely the jury's job to interpret the evidence. It is their job to evaluate the witnesses and decide their credibility. If it were not all the testimony could be done in private and the jury handed a transcript along with exhibits.
By your standard what do you do when witness 1 claims the defendant murdered the victim and witness 2 says he did not. Whom do you believe? By your standard the jury must believe both. After all, you say its not their job to interpret.
Yes, Juror 8 violated the rules when he went out and bought the knife. I agree that should not have been considered. The rest, however, was exactly what juries are supposed to do.
Your evaluations, if based on sheer power, is likely correct. However, the screenrant author may be rating on the quality of the villain; that is how compelling they are and the the strength of character of the villain. If that is the case a mortal man could easily outrank a god. Without going out and reading the screenrant article, I suspect the latter is the intent.
This is old, but... I worked in retail. In the day, meaning through the eighties and nineties, it was common for a business to call the bank and ask if a check would clear. We would give the name and account number on the check and the bank would tell us if it would clear "at that time." In other words, they couldn't guarantee that another check wouldn't come in and deplete the account.
So the travel agency calling the bank is completely believable. These days most places use a service that uses various algorithms and other available data to clear a check.
From the books, they were neither. The Witch had a charm which allowed her to control the monkeys. IRRC, she technically could only ask them to perform 3 tasks. They obviously didn't address this in the movie.
While I enjoyed Meg a great deal, Jaws is far superior.
And we have another bad result. I like Bobbie Bones, but he was not and is not a good dancer. As I said I was rooting for Milo and I thought he did the best in the finals. But that is my opinion and any of the other two could legitimately be claimed to be the best that night. I could accept any of them winning based on normal differences in taste and evaluation of their dances. So, in my view, all three of them were "robbed."
I'll still watch next season. I hope the producers seriously rethink the algorithm they are using for public voting and how it combines with the professional judges' scores.
That doesn't change the facts. People naturally, without modern medicine, have a common life expectancy of about 70 years, provided they make it past puberty. Yes, environmental conditions and violence can cause people to die much earlier. But even today, when life expectancy is higher, that can happen.
A large part of the life expectancy differential is due to the very high infant and child mortality rates. If you made it to adulthood, you were likely to live, barring illness or injury, to the three score and seven (70) the bible relates as the expected span of a man.
That was some of the problem, I think. Many people expected the ballet and this was a story inspired by the ballet, but not the ballet. My wife and I really liked it.
Not quality. New stars arrive all the time. Every season there are stars I know and stars I don't. Sometimes what I see leads me to seek out the oeuvre of the stars I don't.
This season just had a lot of great dancers eliminated and poor ones advanced. I like Bobby Bones as a personality/star (I had never heard of him before as I am not a country music fan.) But he was not a great dancer. I had seen Milo once and was rooting for him. I would have been disappointed if Evanna or Alexis (or Juan Pablo who should have been in the finale) had won over Milo, but all of these dancers were in the same ball park. (Objectively, Juan Pablo was likely better than Milo; but not so much that there couldn't be competition in the finale. The same applies to the others I have named. )
I won't stop watching. But I do hope the producers re-evaluate the algorithm they are using to determine the final scores.
Because Wormtail did it at Voldermort's order. While I'm breaking Godwin's Law, would you say it is inaccurate to say Hitler killed millions in World War II? He didn't kill anyone personally. But they wouldn't have died without his orders.
Maybe, maybe not. Those sorts of things are funny.
And again, its Leo or Elijah. THERE IS NO FRODO IN THIS MOVIE!!!
I agree. She was not my favorite. I've been rooting for Milo. But objectively, she should be in the finals. And objectively, up to this point, Juan Pablo has been the best dancer, though I think Milo is a close second. So my favorite might win, but I'd rather he won by doing better in the finale than Juan Pablo. (And Evanna or Alexis might pull an upset.)
You did put in a spoiler alert
Very shocked. Final four should be Juan Pablo, Milo, Tinashe and maybe Evanna or Demarcus.
Yes, NSA Director Vance.
I assume you mean the NSA guy.
