At the beginning of the movie there are several live births of actual lambs. At least I think they were, because if not those were some incredible special effects.
Imagine the logistics involved in making that happen. Everything from having pregnant sheep on set to having the actors and film crew ready to go the moment the sheep were ready to give birth. That's some serious dedication on the part of everyone involved to include those scenes in the film.
