Alien DNA and my theories (SPOILERS)

So in episode 14 (S2:E6) French scientist Catherine suggests that the aliens didn’t travel to earth, they time travelled from the future. This means they are humans. I have a theory about who they are. Read on only if you like Spoilers.

- These people are the future descendants of Emily. This is why she has the same DNA anomalies as them. Sasha may be the paternal father to all of them.
- They have the same tattoo as Emily because she was their leader. Like a clan symbol.
- The ‘aliens’ are slightly telepathic because Emily (and Sasha) are.
- The aliens all speak with British accents because that’s where the Emily clan live.
- The aliens don’t mind killing everyone else because they know they don’t survive anyway. Or perhaps in the future there are rival clans and they want only Emily’s to survive. The killer dogs scan the DNA and only kill non-clan humans.

Why would the ‘aliens’ want to kill billions of people? I don’t think the initial attack was done by the same group. Maybe it was some natural disaster, radiation from a distant star. If they evolved from the survivors maybe they knew the exact time to return to, but no way of stopping that other event. There hasn’t been any suggestion the people-like ‘aliens’ are anywhere on earth apart from France and Britain. They have their mission based around Emily.

The fact that Emily already has the virus inside her is a problem to all this but maybe the Emily-clan think they can clean her of it or maybe the virus mutates later and is only a problem for them 100s years on, so they still need to stop Bill releasing it to the whole world.
