Where can a Season 3 go?

They've wound up the whole mess in Season 2 ... cannot say what or how since it would be spoilers, but I wonder what they can do to continue the story. This finale episode seems to show immense creativity, so I am sure they will think of something.

I figure possibly the "aliens" who were also caught in the time warp get the book somehow & use it to undue what Bill did.
