Mission: Impossible enters its Roger Moore era

Watched it last night, and well, the series has now become more camp and silly hasn't it? What with that silly puzzle-box "nuke", the little yellow car, and the most ridiculous one for me: the bombs under the bridge with the great big digital displays, like something out of a nintendo game!

Are they trying to be more kiddie-friendly? It's still watchable at least- enough of the old ingredients are still there: Cruise and the gang, spectacular locations, mask jiggery-pokery, and beautiful women. But I'd rather they tighten up the next installment and get some of the old tension back.

The next one might be the last one for Tom Cruise. He is already older than Roger Moore when the latter quit playing James Bond.

heh. that's a pretty good way of putting it. would it really have been too out of place if this movie put in some comedic sound effects during a car stunt like Moore's infamous slide whistle bridge jump? I think it woulda fit right in.
