You should watch Suicide Room (Sala Samobójców) before this
It is not essential to understand any of it, but those two or three elements that might seem offbeat for the general public can be solved by watching that 2011 movie from the same director.
I was a fan of that movie during my teenage years and I can say that having that other movie as reference boosted my viewing experience ;)
