An R-rated/TV-MA show about a sulky. lesbian teenager with superpowers
You gotta love Network.
shareYou gotta love Network.
shareI suspected as much based on the trailer even though the likely less than subtle allegory of her "discovering" lesbianism as she discovers her superpowers was downplayed.
The publicist of the lead actress has unofficially marketed her as a "baby dyke" ever since she's been on scene. I called it years ago. The show looks like somewhat of a vanity/passion project for her, I'm guessing to ease the transition before she officially declares herself a lesbian.
But seriously.. an angsty budding lesbian obsessing over her straight female friend complete with douchebag straight male romantic obstacle before straight female friend naturally comes around eventually to "see the light" and embraces the gay as well. *eye roll*/*barf* It almost seems like the superpower thing is just thrown in as window dressing to mask it as something more than the limited appeal of yet another tired & cliche lbgt lesbian teen drama nobody watches, that Hollyweird loves to shovel out by the barrel load these days. I think I'll pass
Thanks for this description.
I was almost interested in this, but in the description when they mention her "budding sexuality", I instantly knew that she likely wasn't going to be straight. Teaching kids to be normal isn't something Netflix or Hollywood is interested in; it's all about trying to convince the kiddies to devolve their life down a path of substance abuse, domestic abuse, and diseases with a lascivious lifestyle along the Rainbow Reich spectrum.
I'm glad I stayed away from this particular show, but there's this growing anxiety from within that a lot of kids will be influenced by this agitprop in our pop-cultural zeitgeist that keeps trying to pressure them into a lifestyle of degeneracy, and I fear the next generation of kids (especially in North America) will be screwed (in more ways than one).
Gave up on episode 3 – absolute shite.
shareDon't be too hasty. A few things happened in episode four that were mildly interesting. But yes the first three episodes were complete rubbish. I'm going to watch the last three episodes tonight.
So I watched the last three episodes and they weren't very good. The show is just a rehash of things that have been done before but done better. Sophia Lillis is good in it though and so is Sofia Bryant the girl that plays her friend Dina.
You forgot to mention Ginger. Might have been interested 100 years ago when I was a teenager.
