That's called 'empathy', empathy is the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference, that is, the capacity to place oneself in another's position.
Even more nerve wracking to have a black child and have to worry about all the systematic racism they might face by police officers who are scared or highly emotional.
