Tony Todd?
Yo!, Is it true Tony Todd Is actually returning?
If so, it has my blessings!!!
Yeah pretty sure he is.
shareTony Todd is the MF man
shareYes....sadly for only about 8 seconds. It pissed me off that he is listed in the cast when it is a useless cameo. He should be the main star.
shareAnd I don't think that was even him. I think was just CGI representation. And confirmed when the credits said "voices of..."
shareI just watched the clip of Tony Todd from the film on youtube.
So, is another guy playing Candyman in the rest of the movie or what.....?
Yes, it's Yahya Abdul Manteen III for the majority of the film. Casting Todd was a cheap gimmick to get more people in the theatre preying on nostalgia.
shareIt's embarrassing how Clive Barker doesn't have any quality control for properties he started. He's like "Do whatever, just send me the checks".
shareWell, I think he liked the original Candyman even though it is quite different from his short story. He will critique the adaptations that he has nothing to do with like the second the last Hellraiser movie, but yes as long as he is getting paid, I really do not think he has any thoughts on it one way or another.

shareIt sucks we’ll never get an authentic adaptation of that story. But I do love how they combined it with the Cabrini news stories to make Candyman. (The real Candyman. Just like Ghostbusters, they weren’t confident in their product and couldn’t even be creative enough to title it differently.)
shareYes! What a waste. Plus, Todd deserves more acclaim. This was the chance for Todd to get his day in the sun. Underrated actor. I don’t understand why producers, especially Professional Black Filmmakers TM, don’t use him more.
shareTodd definitely is underrated. It sucks that the movie claimed he was Candyman, when it was clearly preying on people's nostalgia just to get them in the theatre. Todd deserved much more screen time than that five second de-aged shot.
shareThe Candyman before the lead actor took over has no presence. He wasn't scary at all. Miscast.
