If someone held a gun to my head and barked, “Choose,” I’d pick Keyshawn (Miss Mississippi). Autumn is elegant, educated, smart and drop-dead Fuckmeat. She had to watch her baby girl die. There is no other pain so great. Mercedes? Beautiful, athletic and DAT ASS. She carries the burden of a demonic mother and the tragedy of separation from her daughter. Keyshawn is at least as athletic as Mercedes, is toned to perdition. She lacks Autumn’s MBA, but she’s MUCH smarter than she admits to herself —yet; but what really hooks me is that she has the most precious face and is also so vulnerable. I have NO DOUBT that Diamond would have killed her asshole husband with his bare hands had she not pulled out a gun, and he would have done it because he is a good and righteous man who cannot abide seeing such a truly beautiful (which means in her heart and soul) woman abused.
P-Valley ep. 2.2, which just debuted, is devoted to Keyshawn. The format departs from previous eps by focusing on just 1 dancer, with Uncle Clifford being present only as voice-over narrator, which means we don’t have to see his grotesque company. It’s a fairy tale. I think it works really well. I hope we get more eps devoted to every other dancer.
I also hope we can keep Uncle Clifford’s sexually confused ass off my the TV screen. “Heard, but not seen.”
