This series is even MORE relevant today!
I read all the comments and replies. I think some people don't understand that the Director is pointing out the similarities between Lindbergh and Trump. He's saying that when a president does not support the rule of law, then violence follows. He's saying Trump's rallies are like the fictional rallies shown when Lindbergh speaks.
If you listen to the podcasts the Director actually says this - it's not my interpretation. And he says it a few times in podcasts.
I don't know why some commenters are even watching this series because it is so opposite to their views. Don't they get that this series is AGAINST religious, racial and ethnic intolerance, and is AGAINST inciting people to violence, and is AGAINST breaking the laws of the land, and AGAINST lying to the people? That is what Trump has done. True, other presidents have lied, but when he lies in almost every sentence, it's against what I was always taught that America stands for.
I suggest everyone listen to the podcasts. They really explain the Director's thinking process and the decisions he made. He obviously is a skilled, experienced, creative and passionate spokesman for his craft and all that goes into turning a great book into a great visual series.
