Did you see the series? This is not a stand alone film.
The gang threatens Jesse's girlfriend, Andrea, and her son Brock to prevent him from trying to escape..
When he does try to escape Todd takes Jesse along to her house and shoots her in front of Jesse.
Her son, Brock, is still alive.

They knew about Andrea and the boy because Walt had told the gang about them and their location. This is before Walt really knew what they were capable of.
