The IMDb score for this is rapidly going lower.

Yesterday morning it was a 9.0. last night it was an 8.5. Right now it at 7.9. I'm predicting a 7.5 by tomorrow.

reply

From 9 to 7.9 ... what a rapid decline.

reply

Within less than two days, it is a rapid decline. There hasn't been a sustained period of time where it remained the same score like most movies do their first weekend of release.

reply

Why would you pay attention to such a thing?.... you/we already have the setup going in.

reply

It doesn't surprise me. It felt like a pointless cash in.

reply

Agreed. I rated it 2/10.

reply

I wouldn't go that low because it was well made and acted. There was just no reason for it to exist. Somethings gotta be diabolical for me to give it a 2. I gave it a 5 out of 10.

reply

I was bored throughout. There was zero suspense. We knew Jesse wasn’t gonna get arrested, was gonna get money, wasn’t gonna kill Todd, and wouldn’t get killed. So, all the long, drawn out scenes were for naught.

reply

Babyfat101 is hands down the best screen name on this site.

reply

Thanks!

reply

Nope.
7.8 still. :)

reply

It's becoming less rapid in its third day, but the score is still declining.

reply

I gave it a solid 8, it was beautifully shot and well acted. Certain scenes were very predictable tho..

reply

8 is fair. It is really only accessible to people who know Breaking Bad.

reply

Perfectly normal. Many movies start out with insanely high ratings and end up around 7.5, which is what I predict for this one. I remember The Interview having 9.9 the first day.

reply

It's just too slow to be universally acclaimed.

reply

I haven't seen it but have heard from quite a few people how boring it is. It seems any time Vince Gilligan gets his hands on writing a screenplay for a film, he falls flat.

reply

Breaking Bad was great because the writers room was made of seven people.

reply

Yep. When you look at his film resume, it consists of Wilder Napalm, Home Fries, and co-wroting the screenplay to Hancock with another guy. The more writers he has with him, the more successful he is. That's why he's known for Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and X-Files.

reply

FIRST HALF OF HANCOCK IS EXCELLENT.

reply

It's been a while since I've seen it but I remember there was a point in the film where everything started getting stupid. I'm assuming the good stuff was written by the other guy.

reply

YEAH HALFWAY THROUGH HANCOCK FINDS OUT HE'S SOME KIND OF ANGEL THING AND HIS ANGEL THING SOUL MATE IS CHARLIZE AND THEY MAKE EACH OTHER WEAK WHEN NEAR...GARBAGE...THAT FIRST HALF THOUGH...DRUNKEN,UNCARING LONER SUPER IMAGE REHABBED BY A PR MAN.AWESOME.
