Getting kinda "blah"

I have some patience but they better start getting some better writers because it's all filler as fuck up until now!

reply

The first episode was great, but yeah. We're 3 in and it still feels like the story has yet to really get started. It's a really bad sign considering there are only 3 left.

reply

It's a far cry from what the trailers led us to believe. And much less interesting than WandaVision.

reply

Wandavision is the most interesting and original thing to come out of the MCU this decade. TFATWS just feels like more of the same old same old.

reply

true, but let's not forget, they fooled everyone to make people talk about the show. "Woah, the guy from x-men universe is now mcu pietro, what multiverse shit is going on woaah"

it's like a straight-A student caught cheating, so unnecessary. it worked, yes, but at what cost? next week we might see Patrick Stewart and everybody's going to be like "just a random guy who happens to live there". :/

reply

True true. Wandavision raised the bar both with originality and character development. Now I know why pre-pandemic they weren’t planning on leading with Wandavision ;)

I found myself on my phone too many times in ep 3, that’s never a good sign...and am I supposed to care about random Wakanda warrior? The connection wasn’t obvious, it’s not like Pietro showing up.

reply

It's not a random Wakandan warrior. But it's indeed not interesting at all.
They could have made it interesting with some sexy Sharon Carter stuff but noooo... Think of the poor children!

reply

Maybe the warrior isn’t random, but the storyline is for anyone who didn’t board the hype train to watch Black Panther.

I did watch BP, although I can’t say I was conscious for 90 minutes of it.

reply

"and am I supposed to care about random Wakanda warrior?"

Isn't she Black Panther's Sister? And I agree with you. Who cares? The whole show is just third tier MCU character reunions.

reply

I'm surprised that you think that. I feel the pace is quite fast with many new developments every episode. All three episodes have also had a surprise introduction by a major character so far as well.

reply

It's just so childish. And too violent for children at the same time. I wish it was as gritty as the flashback scene from Ep 1.

reply

Why do you say it’s childish? I feel it’s one of the darkest MCU projects thus far.

reply

No blood but people are being dispensed like PEZ. Also; a general feel of unprofessional inadequacy by the teams of supposedly elites.
But mostly the trailer-prepped forced jokes.

reply

I saw blood during the fight scenes. Also, I will never understand why people think only children’s movies have jokes.

reply

This week is episode 4 of 6 and the story hasn't really moved past the introduction phase. So far the show is 60s Batman TV show level fights and the introduction of some 2nd tier character from the Captain America movies. The humor is just so shoe horned in and just so head scratching. There is a massive gun fight with explosions and absurd amounts of people being killed, yet no blood, no gore and everything is just easily resolved every step of the way.

Finally all the constant naval gazing between the Winter Snow Ball and Falcon about how Falcon should have kept shield is just tedious at this point.

reply

Yup. I'm treating it like other 2nd rate Marvel shows now: unwatched. (I did watch and like WandaVision)
Just another InHumans/Luke Cage/etc (I did watch Punisher and liked it).
Too bad, as it had potential. But I guess the good writers are working on other stuff.

reply

"Just another InHumans/Luke Cage/etc"

Yeah I agree.

reply

Agreed. I’m two episodes in and bored with it.

reply

Oh, yeah? Still feeling that way after last ep? 🙄

reply

No. It's getting a little better.
