shareWhat made me tear up is how she decided to go back to her culture. While on stage it dawned on her the true ''path'' she was on. While adult womanhood was very alluring to her she made the decision she was not ready for it and decided to go back to being a kid. And she was only a kid, just 11. Her friends were going to take her down a bad road.
shareHer culture/religion was oppressive. Her mother was tormented because her husband was taking a second wife and she had to welcome her and pretend she was happy. That's what lead the girl to rebel. In the end, she rejected her culture/religion by refusing to wear the dress and attend the wedding party. She went back to being a kid, but a very Westernized or French one.
There could easily be a sequel in which she's giving the second wife and her dad Hell for tormenting her mother.
