They took suspension of belief too far.

They wouldn't let that guy drive Piper.
Him taking her alone was not believable.

Jo wants me to bring Piper to her - the rest of you, get down to the station!

Everyone knew Jo trusted Benny. In a crisis situation when she's just called him on the phone right in front of them, why would they question the instructions he passed on? It's perfectly understandable that they don't. We have sentient AIs so close to human even a doctor can't tell the difference, cancer cures, exabyte range storage media the size of a button ... and this is what throws you? 😎

Suspension of belief didn't miss on you.
No, I have never trusted that guy...NEITHER did Jo's dad. Maybe a little, he was BEGINNING to come around.

As much care as they have given into protecting her it made NO sense for Jo's dad to just hand her over.

Your "believe anything" stance isn't impressing me.

Ed didn't distrust Benny. He was annoyed at him for coming there when someone was trying to kill him, thus potentially putting the kids at risk. He also I think resented the fact that Jo had confided things in him that she wouldn't tell her own father. But Benny has proven to be (seemingly) a loyal and dependable friend, even accepting Ñ•hit details like babysitting Alan Wilkis, and getting clubbed over the head for his trouble. When Jo calls on the phone and Benny then tells everyone to get to the station, he's bringing Piper to meet Jo, there's no reason for them to suspect anything. It makes perfect sense at this stage for everyone to trust him.

Your "I knew it all along" stance isn't impressing me. 🤪
