Pilot

I thought it was just OK. I think Jo is a great lead and there's no Mary Sue syndrome to where she is over the top badass. Majority of the characters are good, but a few seem unnecessary to where they could've filled in more around with the incident of what happened. However, it seems like a small town and they went with the "family dynamic".

The story is somewhat unclear. The little girl has like zero trauma and cut out a pebble device in her neck...so she has to know something. I was hoping for more information in the Pilot, but we don't really know anything. I know another episode aired, but I only watched the Pilot so far.

I thought it was a good pilot. I liked the characters and the mystery. I'm glad that they didn't reveal too much in the first episode. I'm sure they will reveal more as it goes on.

I'm still going to watch, I like it enough to continue. I thought it had great cinematography and many locations.
I'm hopeful we'll learn more episode by episode.

Piper swiped that utility knife right after the mysterious visual pattern appeared on the TV. That action, and her cutting the implant thing out of her neck, may have been unconscious responses to some kind of transmitted command - forgotten after she did it. Or she may remember more than she claims. Hard to tell. I thought she was getting ready to peel back the skin on her face or something like that.

The girl could be some kind of genetic experiment. She could be a speciation, i.e. a new human species, more evolved. She could be alien. Or an AI. Or just a kid with special abilities the government was trying to harness and control. From the first and second episode it looks like they're going to draw the mystery out for a bit but not indefinitely. There seem to be reveals every week. Which is good, perpetually asking more questions than they answer and milking it too long has ruined a lot of shows.
