On its way to make 1 billion?
If it was released in china im sure it would, it will be close for sure.
shareIf it was released in china im sure it would, it will be close for sure.
shareI'd be shocked if it hits $1 billion. I expected $900 million would be the most this film could possibly make.
Regardless of what it makes from here on out, it's already made Marvel another large profit. They're now 30/30 profit-wise on their theatrical releases. Must be nice to be able to print money that way.
Agreed its some run.
shareThat would mean Disney spending extra on CGI to put masks on all the black actors faces, so they can sell it to China. Then market it to everybody in the West as they must see it, or they're racist.

Isn't that sad? Reminds me of Ernie being removed from the Ghostbusters poster.
shareYEAH...FUCK CHINA. NOEMOJI
shareThis will be lucky to pass 800 million worldwide so...that would be a big no.
shareCorrect about not making a Billion but wrong on the "Gloom and Doom" forecast.
[–] QueenFanUSA (3186) a month agoFor "Online Chatterers" following you from their homes I believe they are going to give you a failing grade on the numbers but a passing grade on the Hatred for Disney Marvel.

No Norrinrad...I am a fan of both the Walt Disney Company and Marvel in general. BUT...I call them as I see them, regardless.
shareNo. It'll get somewhere between $800M to $850M. Even with China, I still don't think it would have hit a billion, considering the original made $105M there.
sharethis isnt aging very well. lol
WORLDWIDE
$738,247,062
the breakeven is a estimated $888m.
You people and your ridiculous breakeven estimates.
The film cost $250 to make.
$37 million was spent on TV ads.
Over $100 million in promotion was free due to corporate partnerships with Coca-Cola, Ford, McDonald's, and other companies.
Once net profit hits $287 million, all production and promotional costs have been covered.
Domestic ticket sales: $399 million
Disney gets 65% of that: $259 million
International ticket sales: $340 million
Disney gets 40% of that: $136 million
Net profit right now is $395 million. Subtract $287 million and the film has earned $108 million in profit after 28 days.
It will keep making money at the box office for awhile, and also generate income from streaming, home video sales, licensing for toys, and so on.
There you go, using Logic and Math and stuff again. SMH
shareSometimes it seems pointless. So many people seem unaware that most of the promotion for these films is free in the form of corporate partnerships. They hear some made up number-- it won't be profitable until it makes $900 million!-- and blindly accept it as gospel.
If the math and logic won't convince anyone, perhaps they should consider that if Disney weren't making massive profits on these films they would not continue to make 3 or 4 every year, and spend $200 million a pop doing so.
Using my formula, I get the same numbers as you, how odd. lol
Here's the formula if anyone wants to calculate these numbers themselves. As you can see, the 50-40-25 formula is baked in.
Dom = domestic gross
OS = overseas gross (or worldwide gross - domestic gross)
China = Chinese gross
Domestic breakeven, d = budget/(0.5 + 0.25*China/Dom + 0.4*(OS-China)/Dom)
Worldwide breakeven = d*(1 + China/Dom + (OS-China)/Dom)
Breakeven multiplier = Worldwide breakeven / budget
The general rule is 50% domestic, 40% overseas, and 25% China.
Google can help you verify that if you are skeptical.
Based on current inflation though the new multiplier is 2.5. The breakeven is $625m - $787m = $162m and 50% of that goes to taxes, fees, shareholders, tariffs, executives, splitting profits with actors. So far BP2 has made a profit of $81m.
If the math and logic won't convince anyone, perhaps they should consider that if Disney weren't making massive profits on these films they would not continue to make 3 or 4 every years.
there you go, using logic and math and stuff again. smh...
shareShow Your Math! I forgot, you're a grade 8 dropout.
shareI am going to buy the DVD. So that and seeing it at the theater gives the movie some money.
