at the point I pretty much have given up on the MCU. Since Endgame in 2019 I have only liked WandaVision and the first hour Shang-Chi.

Much of everything the MCU has produced since I have actually almost hated. Thor love and Thunder, The Winter Soldier and the Falcon, Moon Knight, Hawkeye , Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and The Eternals were awful

I thought Black Widow, Spiderman No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Loki were decent

lolololololololololol

reply

Lol resident WB boot licker has been quiet lately, whats it like the disney are crushing WB ? Lol oh queen you seem so sad lately, marvel crushed the competition yet again, lol, wonderful to see.

reply

It's nice to see you haven't changed. Still annoying as ever!

reply

Hey bill, queens on life support mode, go easy and dont mention black adam, lol

reply

How is The Incredible Hulk a 7/10, but ranked behind Love & Thunder (at 5/10)?

reply

Because I consider The Incredible Hulk decent and Love & Thunder awful

reply

But why, then, do you place Hulk at 29 and Thor at 28? That's the question.

reply

I asked him that once, and the answer was something along the lines of his rating is based on how good it is as a movie and the ranking is by how much he likes it. It kind of made sense. Like, sometimes you personally like some schlocky film that you know is crappy but you still like it.

reply

Weird.

reply

I mean sort of, but in a way, I get it.

When I think of a film like... I don't know... Mystery Men, well, I really, really love that film. I can watch it over and over. If I had to choose 50 films to bring to a desert island or some such thing, there's a good chance that's one of the 50 I bring, but if I were to list the 200 best-made movies I've ever seen it wouldn't be on the list. That's how I interpret Bill's lists.

"at this point I pretty much have given up on the MCU"

Same. I don't get the hate for Hawkeye though, I love that series. Werewolf by Night was also really good, but it is a drop in the ocean at this point.

I haven't even seen Thor Love and Thunder, I started watching it online for free, but got bored 20 minutes or so in. Doubt I will bother to see Black Panther either. The only MCU movie I have seen at the Cinema since phase 3 is Spiderman: No Way Home. I used to see every MCU movie on the opening night and book my tickets weeks in advance.

I remember back when Infinity War came out, the MCU was like a bastion from all of the woke crap we were getting in Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Star Trek and so on. I thought Feige was a genius and wouldn't fall for that nonsense, and would steeer clear of what was going on in the comics.

Maaaaan was i wrong. They keep doubling and quardupling down. Fuck this shit, I am out. Good luck Marvel....

And that scene where those 2 random girls say "thank you my love" or something.
That was so out of nowhere, without any purpose. Just a token lesbianism.

reply

Huh? Was that in Black Panther with the random lesbians?

reply

Yes.
And also in Love & Thunder.

reply

Marvel has been mostly downhill since Infinity War.

Iron Man and Captain America and Black Widow and Hawkeye are hard to replace, and they haven't done it yet.
The stories don't seem to have any continuity. Hard to do that with a multiverse though.

reply

MCU had a good run from Iron Man to Endgame (and Away From Home).

In my opinion that cycle is one of the best "series" of all time and deserves to be watched.

After that, Marvel has taken other priorities.
Even if Loki, Shang-Chi are good, the series as a whole is now pure nonsense, disjointed and focused on social justice.
