How come this movie doesn't get enough traction ?

It's as American as it can get, troubled angered youth dealing with drug addiction, on the run from the law, idolatry to celebrity artists, banged up lustful midlle aged wives.. I have yet to see Red Rocket once it comes out in high definition because I think they share a lot in common.

Red Rocket is a much better film, even though I also found it similar in tone and cinematography. This one dissappointed me with so much uncalled-for foul language and bad acting. The humour was much more unsophisticated, too.

I think red rocket was better too. But this movie was still awesome.

I LIKED RED ROCKET....BUT....I LOVED DINNER IN AMERICA.

Buckle up, I drive fucking nuts!

Because it's good.

It has a really rough first act; it doesn't get going until about 25 or so minutes in, with the world and characters it paints just being way too off-putting at first. It's also really disjointed and seemingly poorly made initially. The film does get better, but you really have to power through. I almost turned it off.
