Movies don’t always have to have tokens of every race and lifestyle to be a hit. Producers and directors are so hung up on diversity they forget how to make a good movie. And what’s with the change of Marvel’s opening music in this lackluster Marvel production? I along with so many believed Marvel had the best opening graphics with it’s well known theme.

Seemed to be rather arbitrary. If it were all white men, all black cast, all female Asian cast, an all child cast (so they were all the same age as Sprite), etc., I honestly wouldn't have cared either.
And I don't think diversity is getting in the way of "good movies". A movie can have or lack diversity and still suck all the same.
I am tired of people complaining about diversity in films. I get tired of it because if I complain about the lack of diversity in a film that has a cast that is all one race you and your group of people would come unglued. Notice I have never done that. I love this it is okay for you to complain about diversity in films but the opposite side has to sit and stay quiet if there is no diversity. There are still films that have no diversity you simply are not looking hard enough. The newest Spider-man was a huge hit so no Marvel is not sliding anywhere. If you do not like diverse films cool, do not watch them then. No one is forcing you at gun point to go and see the films.

A overlooked aspect was how well written the dialogue/story was for Infinity Wars. Now it has upped the game and all fans (me!) expect the same in all Marvel films.
But to do that they have to do research put in time and money. I figure that Disney knows that they can just forgo this important aspect and churn out a few sub-par-written Marvel films and still take in decent box office sales.
To your point, the director/writer was a Asian/female with no real successful movies to her name whose formative years came from a different culture entirely....so it's no surprise to me that it was not successful.

The go woke go broke does not always apply. Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Get Out and Knives Out were huge box office successes. All of those films people consider woke. Like any film it has a chance of bombing. Films which are not good that are woke can bomb yes but how is that different from any other film that bombs? Sometimes good films bomb this is a stupid mentality designed to fit your narrative. Notice you only count the bombs and conveniently ignore the hits. Comic book characters get reimagined all the time. The only time a race swap is an issue is when the character's race is essential to the character. Otherwise it is fair game to swap them and reimagine them. This is not new.

Knives Out I don't know why it's "woke".
I do not care if a film is diverse, I do not care if a film leans any direction politically. I care if the film is well executed or hamfisted. Ghostusters 2016 sucked! The only reason it existed was to try and use the Ghostubster's name to boost up actresses. Gender swapping them served no purpose other than to make money. I love a creative strong female lead hero. I love Ellen Ripley, Sarah Connor, Trinity, The Bride/Beatrix Kiddo, Mattie Ross, Lisbeth Salander, Furiosa etc. However they need to be compelling and well written. I do not like Captain Marvel. It has nothing to do with her being a female it is because I think she is a poorly written character. I do not like bland characters period though. I hated Cole Young in the new Mortal Kombat movie because he was poorly written.
My issue is people especially on these boards flip out if there is diversity at all. Or if a movie leans a certain way. Yet they are fine if the movie leans to their liking. Judge a film as it is, it can be executed good or bad no matter the ideology.
Total straw man. Nobody has a problem with the existence of diverse characters. Woke refers to the nerfing, killing off and replacement of beloved white male heroes with new ‘diverse’ counterparts, in the last few years the following white male heroes were killed off - James Bond, Han, Luke, He-Man, John Connor, Wolverine, Iron Man, Dewey, Indiana Jones (rumoured).
White women are also affected - Snow White is now brown. Let that sink in.

Walt Disney Studios is one of the biggest spearheads behind the "woke" movement in Hollyweird right now. They're being run white liberals that think cashing in on PC gone out of control is the best idea ever and don't seem to understand just how badly they're losing money or prestige over this bullshit.
It's even worse behind the scenes than on screen. Nobody's allowed to speak out against the woke madness, or they get fired. I actually heard from a guy who works in "the 'biz" that even now, if they have, say, a tv show with an all-black cast, they're not gonna allow anyone working behind the scenes be of a different ethnicity than the actors. They actually have studios doing this! Even if the concept was dreamed up by someone a different ethnicity than the show, they won't be allowed to write the scripts, produce it, or work on any aspect of it. The BTS people have to be the same ethnicity as those on the show!
They now also have a ton of stupid rules in Hollyweird about what you can or cannot have in your movies and tv shows, and too many people want to keep having jobs, so they go along with the bullshit. Here are some of the inane rules:
- white, straight males can't be heroes anymore
- villains can't be POC's anymore
- couples must always be multiracial and/or gay
- all coming-of-age stories are now only about gay teenagers coming out
- any religion except Christianity can be shown in a positive light
- you can't tell any jokes unless it's at the expense of Republicans or white people
- the only bad guys you're allowed to use anymore in historic films are Nazis
- doesn't matter what time period you are showing, you MUST have POC's from every checkbox in there, or else
- black people are worthless and have no real stories of their own, so we must shove them into white people's movies to piss off half the paying public as revenge
- all voice actors must be the same ethnicity as the characters they play
- only "strong" female characters must be shown as the smart ones

He's actually depicted and/or described as an anti-villain (you'll even note plenty of POCkers celebrate him as a hero, which actually ties into Amerigirl's point that he's not depicted as a traditional villain like many White males are).
In the first two films they HAD a romance (pas tense). They already had Valkyrie undergo hetero-conversion and she will have a "queen" in Thor: Love & Thunder (which once again ties back into Amerigirl's point), and the verdict is still out on if Thor will even live by the time the credits roll.

The reason Daredevil got cancelled was because of the falling out with Disney. Disney owns Marvel and wanted to create their own streaming service separate from Netflix. It had nothing to do with Daredevil having Christian themes implemented into it.

Daredevil was mainstream media genius. Did he or did he not have a cameo in the new Spiderman film? Which means they are trying to revive him.

Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, Lawrence Fishburne (one of my favorites), James Earl Jones, et al. All great actors who happen to be Black! Give me a good Black movie and I’ll clap. Give me a good Asian movie and I will enjoy. “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” was an excellent film.
