Everything's been said when it comes to the negatives of this film, but really I'm just making this as kind of a way to just explain my frustration with the state of Marvel as of now. I haven't really enjoyed the majority of stuff they have put out this past year: Wandavision was good up until the last two episodes; Falcon and the Winter Soldier was a drag; Loki hindered my enjoyment of everything that came previously; What If was interesting in a few episodes, but mostly dull; and Black Widow was pretty lame.

To be fair, I haven't seen Shang-Chi yet, but even if I did and enjoyed it, the bad clearly outweighs the good. Every time I go to see one of these new Marvel projects I feel less and less excited for the next. I think Marvel has reached its peak and it feels like the new directions they are going in aren't compelling or interesting to me. It feels cheap, as if they are squeezing anything and everything they can to keep people interested. They are releasing a Hawkeye show for crying out loud!

And now here we are with this: the most ambitious Marvel project to date, and it completely falls on its face. It's everything they say: dull, boring, poorly structured, and a mess from start to finish. I think that for me this is pretty much the nail in the coffin for my actual excitement for any future projects (NWH excluded, I'll see that just for how ridiculous I know it will be).

I felt the same way after seeing this. I feel somewhat invested in these films at this point, sticking around mainly to keep up to date for the inevitable lead-up Avengers movie. My patience is wearing thin. These films are super cheesy and imo being held back by the family friendly Disney moniker. Furthermore, the big time heroes have been used so it's now slim pickings with lesser known characters with even lesser known actors/actresses to play them.

The only big time hero that Marvel has used is Spiderman and Hulk, both of which are going to have more movies coming out. Feige hasn't even touched the X-man yet, or the Fantastic 4, or Blade. So basically all of the most popular comicbook characters are still to come. Not to mention Deadpool is going to be joining the MCU. Oh yeah, and Daredevil.
Iron Man wasn't popular until the movie came out, So what are you talking about?

You're absolutely wrong , Iron Man wasn't popular ? lol , as a kid i used to read Iron Man , Thor , Captain America , i didn't read Daredevil until the 80's when he became popular , i didn't know who X-Men and Deadpool were until the 90's when i watched the animated series , i didn't know who Blade was until the movie came out

How many of the people who watch Marvel movies do you think read comics? I had never heard of Iron Man. I knew of Captain America, but he was generally considered kind of a joke.
The Blade movie came out more than 20 years ago. I mean at some point no one had heard of any of the characters until they either read a comic with them for the first time, or saw them on TV or in the movies. So this is a ridiculous point to make.
At this point in time Blade and Deadpool are 1000 times more popular than Iron man was before the Iron Man movie came out in 2008, which is the only relevant comparison.

Courageous and earth-shattering. But whoa… you’re gonna join the kewl crowd that Marvel won’t miss one bit (and certainly doesn’t need). Good for you! This negativity-spreading site definitely loves to hear this kind of announcement btw (that’s actually not sarcasm).

Alright then, well don’t let the door hit you on ya tired butt on the way out. I must say though… I love how Marvel is driving away and jading out many of those that they should anyway (no doubt many of these former fans will dedicate their time to trashing Marvel like many kewl ones do). Bring on the new era! 👊

Negativity and consuming others negativity is tiresome (its why I had to hold off watching anymore DVD Overlord or The Quartering on youtube because its just negative energy over and over). That being said, sometimes the dislike of content is warranted.

I wouldnt write that the OP is getting any joy out of making this post, just seems like they needed to vent their frustration and maybe they were hoping someone might change their mind or give them some glimmer of renewed hope in further content coming down the line.

You seem to be happy that people are feeling bad? Thats not something to relish or applaud. Your post here is mean-spirited, and not at all helpful.

I still feel like all of the stuff since Far From Home has been kind of experimental D list stuff that Feige has thrown out there in the wake of Phase of 3.
The real test will be Spiderman: Far from Home and The Multiverse of Madness. Those are tentpole movies that feature the two most popular remaining Marvel Superheroes.

I have to completely agree with you about everything , also i just watched this movie and it was the most boring MCU movie to date.

I can't comment on this film specifically as I haven't seen and have no plans to. Didn't see Shangri La either.

I'm giving up on these movies for the same reason I gave up on the comics. The world building is becoming too unwieldy.

We are seeing more and more of these 'galactic' level heroes and villains, and at some point you wonder why these super threats/ heroes to earth don't bump into each other more often. Or, why we don't see certain superheroes -- looking at you Avengers -- showing up more often. (One of the running gags for this movie on assorted youtube vids is the fact that these Eternals didn't show up to defeat Thanos who literally SNAPPED HALF THE UNIVERSE AWAY. How big a damn threat does it have to be to summon every available superhero around? I know from reviews that there is some half-assed in-movie explanation, but it's only going to get more awkward as more movies come out and the story deficiencies get more pronounced.)

Also, there's a mind-numbing sameness to these 'galactic' scale movies... they all end with a balls-to-the-wall CGI battle that runs for 20 to 30 minutes. You could have swapped out battle scenes in Endgame for Infinity War, and I doubt anyone would have noticed. (Haven't seen this one... does it end with a big CGI slugfest too?)

I loved the Netflix series for their small scale, long form storytelling. I wish Marvel would stick to that formula, but I'm going to be disappointed for sure.

My thoughts exactly - I really wish Marvel movies would dial down the scale of the threats their heroes have to face. I would much rather see Spider Man fighting Dr. Octopus or the Green Goblin than seeing immortals trying to prevent a God-like being from destroying the entire planet.

For those wondering, the in-movie explanation is the Eternals were ordered to only interfere with affairs of Deviants. That's it. No getting involved with world conflicts, nor the battle vs. Thanos

It's losing the run of itself now. I feel exactly the same way as the OP. Seems like they made extra special effort with the first few Marvel phases. All of the recent stuff has been a bit "meh" and passable.

And more mediocrity on the way with Hawkeye etc. The positivity they earned from some wonderful earlier movies is starting to wane for me. Also I wonder is there some superhero movie fatigue setting in too? It's kind of all been done I think.

We've had X-Men movies before. Same with Blade, the Fantastic Four and Deadpool.

Were you a fan of Doctor Strange? The sequel to his film is something I look forward to seeing.

My advice is to not stress out over movies in marvel that are not holding your interest. Just take the time to watch what you want, and leave the rest. Its not a rule that you have to watch ALL the marvel movies in order to be a fan. Theres bound to be hit and misses and it seems like many misses as of late, doesnt mean something else wont come along that you'll like in the future. Just stick to what makes you happy, dont waste time on what stresses you out.
