Things you learned, picked up, or questioned in the movie?
-Social Justice Warrior Activists Ajax and Sersi wanted to end the patriarchy and the order of things along with life itself by going against the cosmic beings with their deity powers; selfishly stopping Tiamat from birthing which in turn prevents the birthing of billions of other planets and populations. Needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many.
-Celestials themselves seem as incompetent or prone to failure as a normal human being would given their size and big brain yet they keep screwing up with Deviants then later on the Eternals for not doing what they made them out to do. Instead of giving Eternals basic animal brains no smarter than a dog (apex predator to Deviants) or emotionless minds, they gave them the ability to feel for other lesser races and have the ability to gang up on their masters and overcome/overpower them (something that we'll see with AI one day). Talk about being idiots not worth worshiping/following.
-Ikaris had more feelings for Sersi by not killing her than Sersi did for Ikaris when he went on a suicide run towards the sun. Fitting name for his end.
-Do most deities get bored then eventually mingle with the lesser beings to mate and create hybrids? Happens a lot apparently, even in Greek mythology.
-References to Superman/Clark Kent for DC Universe crossover?
-Avengers nowhere to be found apparently, especially when the Eternals ignored the Chitauri Invasion, Ultron's rampage, and Thanos's cosmic fury.
-Since Thanos's 'snap' wiped out half the population of the universe, this would've paused many Celestials from being created which would be against the rules or functions of the Celestials and would require them to interfere if not the Eternals yet they did not. Why the plot hole? Even Doctor Strange/Captain Marvel were absent since they deal with cosmic beings to entities.
-Phastos is a hypocrite when he's the one that gave tech for humans to kill each other with, including the H-Bomb.
-Why would you create a disabled Eternal like Makkari (still has some of the best fight scenes with those fast punches from all angles)? Oh right, nvm, incompetent Celetials like Arishem's lack of perfection being the leader and all.
-Ikaris is suppose to be the strongest of the group yet he keeps getting pummeled by the other Eterenals and Deviants. His only ability is flight and constant mediocre to decent laser eyes while rarely using his punches or even a kick. Can't even keep up with Makkari like how Superman would against Flash.
-What's the point of Ajax to medic heal when she wasn't even needed after she died? Eternals did fine without her even after taking lots of blood squirting damage, especially Ikaris.
-Marvel's introduction of more characters is starting to get a brain drain on me since I don't know any of the newer characters as they're not as iconic or well known as Iron Man, Captain America, etc. For instance Thano's brother Eros (mixed it up with Ego whose also a Celestial) aka Starfox and the Black Knight (Blade reboot reference).
-Chloe Zhao, like Nomadland, tries to recreate some of it in Eternalsland with the love interests, love making, and inconsequential slice of life drama sequences in a Marvel movie.
-Someone sitting behind me in the theater that I overheard said this movie was better than Shang-Chi and Black Widow...
