I never knew Daniel Craig could ACT! Weird...

Even in the NON-James Bond films I've seen this guy in (Cowboys vs. Aliens, The Invasion, The Golden Compass, etc.) he always was pretty much the same way on screen... stone-faced, sullen, grim, seemed to be recovering from a bad hangover, etc., etc.

I immediately recognized the actor from his FACE, but his personality, voice, and mannerisms were SO different in THIS movie that it seemed like someone else possessed Daniel Craig's body or something! He was this laid back, cool, wryly humored guy with a charming deep southern drawl. WTF?! He actually seemed to having FUN with the role off screen as well.

If Daniel Craig is actually able to ACT and portray DIFFERENT kinds of people, how come I've NEVER seen him do it before?! And he if he ACTUALLY able to project charm, humor, and wit on screen, why can't he do it as Bond? His Bond has all the personality of a plank of plywood. Bond girls swoon over him in his movies because the script says they should.

Craig to me always came across as Steve McQueen's English cousin - after being kicked in the head by a horse. However... he was very good in Knives Out. I have similar feelings about Pierce Brosnan. I liked him in Ghost Writer and The Tailor of Panama but not so much as Bond or in his other various roles.

I hated his performance, with that goddamn over-the-top fake Southern accent.

He's been a good actor in everything else I've seen him in, this is the very first time I've hated anything he's ever done!

You just don't understand his Bond. And neither did Sam Mendes, who directed two of Craig's Bonds.

He was also very good in ‘Road to Perdition’.
