Christopher Plummer deserves an Oscar nomination

He deserves a nomination for the scene when he calmly tells Marta what to do after she made the gigantic blunder with the medicine. The compassion and understanding he portrayed in this scene was dazzling.

The best scene in the movie and Plummer was excellent. So was the girl.

I thought he was easily the best thing about this patchy film - most of the other actors were wasted in their roles. I'm not sure that what he does is enough to justify an Oscar nomination - it's well within Plummer's usual range - but I wouldn't complain if he somehow slipped onto the list.
