Where was Marta from?

Seems like it was inconsistent. One person said Brazil. Two other people said two different South American locations.

reply

At various times people said, Equador, Paraguay, Uraguay and Brazil.

At first I thought this inconsistency would be picked up on by Benoit Blanc, perhaps suggesting her being here illegally.

Since it was ignored, I thought it was just a commentary about the phoniness of those who professed that she was like family but didn't care enough to even know where she was from.

In the end, I think it was just another red herring and a comedic element.

reply

Definitely not Brazil as she spoke Spanish with her mom. I think they were supposed to be from Central america judging from the Mom's accent.

Yes.

reply

it was inconsistent.

it seems pretty clear to me that this was here to underscore the phoniness of the family, who told her how much she was valued when they hadn't made the effort to really get to know her.

reply

I thought she was born in the U.S and that her mother was technically the only one from a foreign country.

reply

Yeah I should have said her mother.

The actress is Cuban.

reply

It's to show what deplorable horrid racists they are because they can't keep straight in their minds which random third-world craphole her family came from.
