If you're like me, the original series ended and I was content with that being the end.

If you really want a continuation, then this may be a series for you.

If you don't trust that modern writers can handle the character, just skip it.

If you never watched the original and want a series to watch, go for it.

I've got a better reason: if it was made by Alex Kurtzman's Secret Hideout Studio, you know it's gonna be weapons-grade dog shit; a multi-million-dollar fanfic that essentially dumps on Star Trek Lore and breaks canon every chance it gets, while degrading what fans originally loved about the franchise.

Better to avoid it if it was made by his studio.
