Why I'm not interested
There have been a lot of good Star Trek books that take place after the movie Nemesis. There were also many new developments in the life of Captain Picard. A new Enterprise, a (mostly) new crew, and a wife and son. There were also cool developments with the other characters. Worf as First Officer, Data in a new body traveling the galaxy in his own ship, Geordi with a long-term love interest, Doctor Crusher as the Captain's wife, etc.
I have to assume that CBS will ignore these things in favor of its new continuity, much like Disney did when they made the new Star Wars movies. With that happening, it will be hard for me to want to see this.
And another thing! I wouldn't be so hung up on those books if they hadn't killed off their movie franchise. I saw something in the trailer that mentions a great rescue from 15 years ago. All I can think is, "If this rescue was so freaking great, why didn't they make that story into a movie instead?"
I'd rather see a new show about yet another new crew of the USS Enterprise instead of Picard's personal epilogue. They could have just moved ahead another 50 years and done a show about the Enterprise H with Picard guest starring as a 130 year old man in it (who knows, maybe in the 25th century, 130 year olds will be like 80 year olds today). Then they could just ignore the books without erasing what happened in them.
With all that said, I hope the fans like it. I *might* check it out at some point, but I'm certainly not planning on signing up for CBS on account of this series.
