In reality..... SPOILERS about plot

People were fed with those stories about Superman, X-Men, Flash and other superheros who were all good and noble and helped people. But in reality if superhumans would start appearing then absolute majority of them would be like Homelander and Magnetto.

Power corrupts people. There was a french tv show about teens accidentally getting powers. And one teenager was having troubles with his parents who loved his brother more. He was grumpy, little jealous but harmless. But once he got powers he started being freaky and obsessed with parents not valuating him, confronted them and eventually started using them on his parents and brother. Then he lost his powers and again became kinda harmless troubled teenager and kinda felt sorry for attacking his parents and brother.

With getting superpowers ordinary people can become villains pretty fast even if they were good. Its just corrupts you when you have that power and can do whatever you want. Which we saw with dad and mom here. And girl... OMG. Once she had no powers she was normal girl. Once she got them she became murderous machine not caring at all about killing people.
