My wife and I watched this last night. We hadn't heard of it and were expecting some sort of sci-fi / horror.
If I could describe it without giving too much away, it would an X-Men origins movie as written by Stephen King (think Firestarter) ... starring Jack Black's younger, thinner brother.

It takes a bit to get rolling, but once it does it's a good flick.
I agree. Good movie. 8/10 from me.

And I concur. not a bad lapse from the daily grind.
Not only does Emile Hirsch look like a younger and thinner Jack Black, but the daughter looked and kept reminding me of a kid Drew Barrymore. I agree that this wasn't too bad of a flick.
