Why the F is there a black chick in this? This is set in 1817 in England. That actress should be ashamed for taking the part. There should be NO black people in any of these period dramas. There should be NO black people in Lord of The Rings or any other English fantasy series. Stop blackwashing Western\White culture. It's starting to make me really actually hate black people which I guess is what they want.

The character is an heiress from the Caribbean. There were black people there because whites had brought them, as slaves.

FYI, in Jane Austen's unfinished novel "Sanditon", Ms. Lambe is a person of color so the TV show is not being "woke", but following Ms. Austin's vision.
