There is software that will imitate/manipulate a specific person's voice. More than one company has worked on it over the years.

In the early 2000s Microsoft was working on it.

Mike Elgan, reporter for a Microsoft topic based industry publication reported on it. He said the example that they used that day was US General Colin Powell.

A few years ago I read another article about yet another company working on it. Sorry, don't remember the name of the company.

I didn't Google the subject for this post, so the software may be available for the public but I doubt it.

PS. I didn't watch the movie so if I went to far off topic with my answer, sorry.
PPS. Voice manipulation software will make future politics really fun.

But I'm still not getting it. How does software alter her voice when she's talking face to face in a hotel lobby? I'm missing something lol

It's just a retarded rumor. There's a recording of her speaking where her voice pitches up for like less than a second and it was posted on youtube as "proof" that she fakes her deep voice. Everyone's voice pitches up once in a while, like when they get excited or whatever.

People who knew her before said her voice suddenly got deeper.

Trans people change their voices too.

It was a lot longer than half a second. At least in the clip I heard.

She sounds like a kid trying to sound like a grown up man. Also, people who knew her in her younger days have said she had a fairly typical voice for a woman then.
