Why such a big flop?

I do not understand as to why this film was even made. I mean who was asking for this? None the less, why was this such a big flop? I seem to remember it being marketed quite a bit.

I am actually more surprised how little it made oversees in the foreign market, especially in China. I would have figure that the Chinese people would have supported their own kind but it didn’t make much there. Why is that? Will this flop ultimately end Henry Golding’s career?

Well in the first place, they barely did any advertising for it. The first teaser trailer was dropped just a couple months before its release date.

As for the movie, it didn't feel like a Snake Eyes or a G.I. Joe movie. It felt like the script for a generic martial arts movie that was reworked as a recognizable IP.

Henry Golding will be fine. And he's not Chinese btw.
