Box Office Bomb with $15 million opening weekend!
Budget was somewhere between $50-70 million. It's not making that back.

shareShame. It is a pretty good movie and I think it is just collateral damage in America's war against Hollywood. Not deep or insightful, but it is irrevererent and funny. IMO, Hollywood could use more of this, not less.
Admittedly less than the first film but not bad for the times we live in? Then again if the budget really is twice the original they've got a long way to go.
shareYup and it's going to drop hard this week with F9 opening.
shareHaven't they exhausted the Fast and Furious franchise yet? Vin Diesel is in his fucking mid 50s. He could potentially be a grandfather.
MORE FAMILY.
shareNot yet it seems. They have 1 more film planned which I believe is suppose to be two parts. There is also going to be another Hobbs and Shaw movie as well.
shareActually the total worldwide opening was closer to 19. It has now pulled in about 43 worldwide. Not a great number, but given that most movies now are not just driven by ticket sales and also rely quite a bit on streaming it will most likely breakeven and probably make a small profit.
shareTheater sales stopped being relevant somewhere by the time 97% of the fucking population got internet.
Syndication/streaming has been the main source of money even before the pandemic.
