Seems like a long form black mirror episode that cranks the existential horror up to ten.

Exactly what I thought. It's like a very drawn out episode of Black Mirror. Which was my problem with this movie. It's just a short story. Shouldn't be made a full movie.

I think it works as a movie, but I also think it could have been an episode of a television series. The movie's length helps the helplessness feel.
