Do you know why it was called that? According to some sources, the Dahomey were not feminists. They wanted to be recognized as men.

Is it really that hard to understand?

That sounds like something misogynists would say. European men would be shocked to see women in positions of power at that time and believed there was something wrong with it. The French colonialists removed the women's political and military power.
