total turn off
they lost me at "Woman" + "King"
shareDo you know why it was called that? According to some sources, the Dahomey were not feminists. They wanted to be recognized as men.
Is it really that hard to understand?
Nope. You have to watch the movie in order to understand the title.
shareI have not watched the film yet. I read about the Dahomey years ago.
Here is a video from The History Guy; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgXo1DKFVOg
"They wanted to be recognized as men."
That sounds like something misogynists would say. European men would be shocked to see women in positions of power at that time and believed there was something wrong with it. The French colonialists removed the women's political and military power.
You have to actually watch the movie in order to understand the title.
shareYou're asking too much to these reactionaries.
sharethe title has to convince me to watch,
I am not a ''consume product and then get excited for next product'' robot..
So true. They're idiots complaining about a movie plot that exists only in their heads. They have no idea what the movie is about.
